Helena Bonham Carter, Dominic West to play Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton

Titled Burton and Taylor, the 90-minute drama will air on BBC Four later this year. The story centres around the volatile ex-lovers' ill-fated appearance in a 1983 revival of Noel Coward's stage play Private Lives. Source: Digital Spy

I hope that this is great, for HBC's sake.

Can HBC live up to LiLo's portrayal, that is the question.

Nobody can touch Lindsay's portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor!

The shadow it casts shall reach across the pond and haunt Helly Bonham's portrayal deeply - I don't know how she will cope with the pressure!

Apparently from the director who's making Effie with Emma Thompson, Dakota Fanning, Julie Walters, and Claudia Cardinale.

West & Carter are both (counting TV) recent Bafta winners. I dunno how many are interested in the life of Taylor past her prime though.

For a second, I thought you said from the director who made Effie with Jennifer Hudson, but then realized I was thinking of Winnie, that biopic that never came out in the US.

I think this sounds great. HBC gets so few actually good normal roles these days.
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.

It's hard to say what is worse: Lifetime or BBC FOUR.

If there's one thing Liz Taylor wasn't, it's normal.

I just want to know when Helena is going to play Bette Davis. Like, it's so obvious.

    Terrible casting
I love Bonham Carter but she is miscast here

However, I'd love to see this:

I can´t picture Helena as Liz, but who knows. Even Zeta Jones looks like a better choice. Dominic West is handsome and brave enough to play Dick.

I'm glad Dominic West has another big role.
