Can someone please make a gif of O. Russell's reaction to Riva's win? Seriously, that is the greatest single screen shot I've ever seen at these awards shows and would be the perfect gif to combat anyone displaying signs of LoAism

what was Russel's reaction to Riva's win?

Anyway, I think the fact that Riva plans to show up to the Oscars (and tells everyone that she is going to attend) might still work in her favour. Especially if the word spreads that the whole awards circuit is too exhausting, and that she saves herself for the Oscars.. I mean come on, she goes to the most important one, they must feel extra happy about that .

But that's only part of it...they stayed on him for a few seconds and he made this face of disagreement that made me rewind about four times...HILARIOUS.

I think it's a rather ridiculous reaction. JLaw looks annoyed as well, but being the actress, she knows how to act somewhat gracious.

Oops. Not good for him, and that of the man who made I heart Huckabees. I mean come on. Deep inside, he must realise that Riva was giving the better performance. Or even if "better" is debatable, at least he must have considered that some people may have thought Riva's performance was more awards-worthy than Lawrence's. I mean being disappointed is one thing, but he looked like this was an act of the devil.

Btw, when Julia Roberts lost to Misery's Kathy Bates, was that a suprise or was it expected?

It's also not a smart reaction, right at the beginning of the Oscar voting period.

    What.

Julia Roberts was lucky to be nominated that year.

Chastain also does not look pleased and it looks like that chick next to her has to remind her to smile

Seriously, was AD the only ones who saw that coming?

I honestly don't think voters will care.

Not sure the Academy overANALyses every detail of the Oscar race like people do on this forum though ...

EW thought Bates was fourth behind Woodward (!), Roberts and Huston, in that order.

There were apparently gasps in both the press area and the auditorium, so yeah.

Something like this could easily become a story though that will come under the attention of the voters.
