Why would anyone have to give someone else a standing ovation?

Also, they are feuding and have literally gotten in a fight recently...I wouldn't expect anyone under those circumstances to give the other a standing ovation. Also, I don't really think a standing ovation is necessary for anyone at the Grammys unless they're like Bob fucking Dylan or something.

I cannot tolerate the dissing of A Taste of Honey or Chris Brown. I am one of their (and his) idiotic fans. I'm with RiRi on Chris.

Worse that fight (reportedly) was over a parking space.

Actually not "worse" as much as "hilarious."

    Nor can I tolerate inaccuracy.

I never called ATOH fans "idiotic."

    Nah.
If you mean she should write songs about how she totally sucks as a human being, do your favorite artists do this?
If you mean she should write songs that acknowledge that she has culpability in her relationships too, Back to December is about how it is basically all her fault they broke up. Or I Almost Do is about how she misses a guy but they both made a mess and they can't do it over again.

"Perhaps it's all because she's so freaking overexposed these days. At least Adele disappeared after the Grammys last year, which gave everyone a break."
Taylor didn't have a single fully promoted pop single from late July 2011 through mid August 2012. I'm sorry if her existing counts as continuous exposure.

I love how the one time jjj doesn't post in nearly indecipherable statistics is to fangirl all over Taylor Swift.

Like...this has to reveal something, but...what?

(Also, I'm pretty sure 10 Top 40 singles in the past two years counts as overexposure. And that's not even counting "promotional singles"! How about them stats?! )

I think it's wonderful Billy Ocean won. I would have liked Snap! to have won dance single.

Also, I would like to note here that Skrillex's domination of the Dance categories lately basically one of the most inducing things to have happened at the Grammys. And they have a lot of worthy moments!

Relax I was joking. I've got nothing against (or care for, quite frankly) TS.

Nobody has to give anybody a standing ovation, but when you've just lost and everybody around you is applauding a guy you just tried to beat up in a parking lot while calling him a "faggot," you should fucking stand up.

    Yes!

My favorite break-up albums of the 00s are probably Sea Change, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Year of the Gentleman and all of those artists willingly admit their failures over and over again.

Taylor's problem isn't the music. She writes good pop music. Her persona is just ruining the image her songs put forward, turning her from sympathetic to a whiny brat.

I agree with this. There's nothing about using personal heartbreak, bitterness, or full-on anger to fuel your musical output. There IS something wrong with very publicly denouncing your exes, by name and accent, when they have literally done nothing to you but date you. It's immaturity of the highest order. I thought it's ridiculously immature (and seriously psychologically damaging) of Eminem, and it's ridiculously immature of TSwift by the same token (though definitely not as psychologically damaging).

Didn't watch these, but I have been quite amused by the reaction to Taylor's lame performance. WANEGBT and IKYWT are two of the worst pop songs I've heard in a long time, and the tone most of her music strikes is unpleasant. The bad reviews couldn't have happened to a more deserving song.

Yeah... that wouldn't be disingenuous. There's no win for Chris Brown. Maybe he could have participated in the standing ovation ironically.
