Pacino looks hammy as fuck. So he'll win all the awards.
Will Oscar have Riva Fever?
I like really never ever understand Helen Mirren's wacky choices. I am not sure I ever have. She's got this obvious taste for crime dramas and comedies to her dramatic and classic side, but so often she picks really lame projects and yet leaves them relatively unscathed. The past decade, besides her prestige flicks, she's appeared in Raising Helen by Garry Marshall, Shadowboxer, National Treasure: Book of Secrets (an obvious follow-up to The Queen, eh?), Love Ranch, Red, and now this.
Obviously, she'll be in Red 2. LOL.
I know it's Mamet and all, but the whole thing looks very underwhelming.
When is Pacino gonna get these baity as fuck vehicles to the big screen? I mean he's dominating the Emmys and all but I actually think the man is due for a second Oscar. All his contemporaries have at least two (De Niro, Hoffman, Hackman, Nicholson has 3).
So that means we will be treated to Pacino's boring speeches at the Emmys, Globes, and SAG for the third time (after Angels in America and You Don't Know Jack).
And yes, he better focus on Getting Oscar #2.
With Douglas as Liberace in the mix, I wouldn't immediately call the race for Pacino. In fact I'd be surprised if it turneed out that way.
Wells really liked it:
http://www.hollywood-elsewhere.com/2...dont-like-you/Last night I attended a special LACMA screening of David Mamet‘s Phil Spector (HBO, 3.24). It’s far from a typical big-murder-trial, guilty-or-innocent movie. It’s very tight and taut in the classic Mamet style, and it contains a pair of compelling, at times amusing, charismatic performances from Al Pacino as Spector-the-nutbag (brilliant, flamboyant, fickle, rambling of speech, bewigged, gnome-like)
IMDB says Douglas also has 4 failed Emmy bids and no individual SAG. Plus Liberace has higher name recognition than Phil Spector.
Mirren continues to be the Streep of TV Movies (most Emmy noms + most wins), since Streep already has being the Streep of theatrical films covered.
Of course what really matters is Ejiofor becoming an Oscar and Emmy nominee for the same year.
Ang Lee - The only 2x Bafta/DGA/Oscar-Winning Director!
Meryl on Oscars: Y’see these little babies? These are my best f***ing friends
and they never let me down. Try to get ‘em away from me and I’ll eat you alive.
Metacritic has 100's for it but average is 65 so reviews are all over the place!
It has two 100s and eight below-50s. Exactly the same as...Spring Breakers!
David Mamet=Harmony Korine?

With an hour to go I ask does anybody have any online sites to watch the movie. I live in Europe and would really apperciate it if someone could help me.
Most of the reviews are praising the leads though, so it was a good choice by Pacino and Mirren and good for Mamet for finally doing something again.
