My point was: No Asian double nominees ever.
For Africans, we've got Hounsou and Theron.

Dont know if this fits in. But the story on a stranger walking up to the stage, accepting Alice Brady's Supporting Oscar on her behalf and disappearing with it; plus Alice Brady allegedly dying without receiving an official replacement has always fascinated me.

I've always liked the fact that a rejected TV sitcom pilot went on to win the Oscar for Live Action Short (Dear Diary, 1996).

I've always been interested in who the youngest non-acting Oscar winners are. The record is probably held by Marketa Irglova, who was like nineteen when she won Song for Once. But how many under-30 year olds have won in other categories? The Lauenstein brothers (Balance, Best Short 1989) were 26. Tim Chappell and Lizzy Gardiner (Priscilla, Costume Design 1994) were 28 and 29. Any others?

Walton Goggins (!) was 30 when he won for Live Action Short for The Accountant.

Goggins was just in the film, he didn't win.

I love the years when animals were eligible for Oscars. It's amazing to look at the reminder list of 1948 and see Lassie eligible for Best Actress for Hills of home.

    Jali Awards Best Actress 1920-1925
1920 Tora Teje, Erotikon // 1921 Pola Negri, The wildcat
1922 Anna May Wong, The toll of the sea // 1923 Marion Davies, Little old New York
1924 Marie Prevost, The marriage circle // 1925 Gloria Swanson, Stage struck

We were talking about this in the chat recently. He actually produced the short along with Lisa Blount and even accompanied her and the director to the stage at the Oscars. I just looked up the category's history on Wikipedia and it seems they don't allow more than two nominees?

it would be great if one man got 2 nominations in 1 category and tied with himself/herself and got 2 awards.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were 26/28 when they won for writing. Diablo Cody was 29.

Fun piece of trivia: that is no longer allowed. I'm not sure if the rules changed because of that win, or if it was changed for some other reason.

I have some that I bought on ebay. If you are interested in the films that were eligible each year you can do it here, although the names of the actors are not included:

James Dean trivia at the Oscars is particularly fascinating - only person to have received two posthumous Oscars, and to be nominated for two thirds of your filmography - something that will never be repeated.

Ugh, James Dean should have 3 Oscar nominations, not 2! Yet another horrible/great example of someone who was gypped clearly. There is no way that both James Dean performances that year, East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause, weren't in the Top 5 for Best Actor. Stupid rule.
