If Argo wins Adapted Screenplay, it's over, if Lincoln wins it, Argo can still win BP, too much love for Kushner to assume that him winning automatically signals a BP win. An Argo win, would.

Is there any way Argo's odds drop before Oscar night?

Well voting hasn't even started yet and there are still 3 weeks until the ceremony.

WGA/BAFTA loss. I expect it will win BAFTA, I mean they nominated Affleck for Actor. If Terrio manages to beat Kushner at WGA too, you might as well call this thing.

I'm kind of hoping Argo wins now, I'd rather he win for his Apollo 13 than his A Beautiful Mind.

I still maintain Argo needs another major award. I keep harping on this...but 72 years since a film won BP without a directing, writing, or acting win.

I guess it's safe to assume Affleck will win BAFTA as well and leaves us no clue as who will win director at the Oscar. That's the most exciting race of all.
    Recent watched movies:

    Django Unchained - B
    Les Miserables - A-
    Ted - B-
    Lincoln - A
    Silver Linings Playbook - B+

    My thoughts on box office

Well we've had exactly one film win without a Director nomination in 70 years as well so clearly history is out the window. But regardless, I think Terrio is winning.

We can't change our predictions based on voting though - we can't see how members are voting. I mean, is there any event that could greatly reduce Argo's percentage at Gold Derby, for instance? BAFTA/WGA are really not that big deals.

And DMD won in the other categories.

I think Terrio is too because it seems like the momentum is a tidal wave. But if he doesn't, I still have hard time seeing Argo win.

Oh boy, Sasha's still holding out big time hope. I think Oscar Night will be painful for her, I can only imagine if Spielberg loses Director too,

    LOL.

    Sasha Stone@AwardsDaily
But I love when people say Argo won the PGA, SAG and DGA and so picture is a done deal. Maybe. But. #apollo13

    GusCruz@GusCruz
@AwardsDaily Apollo 13 had 4 movies running against it, which makes it easier for an alternative to arise. Argo has 8. It SCREAMS consensus

I hope Fincher presents the oscar to Affleck when Argo wins, it will totally destroy her.

Sasha is QUICK to use the block button. You would think that someone who has been doing this as long as she has would know to not take this so seriously.

i'm sticking with what academy history tells me. they've never been pushed into voting for a movie they didn't like as much as other movies because of a "snubbed" director. if argo had led the nominations like driving miss daisy, then i could see it. but their nominations said they didn't like argo as much as lincoln or SLP- and even life of pi and les mis beat it in the noms

so now have they been pushed into this because of the guilds trying to tell them what to do? i don't know. i really don't.

But Argo got everything it pretty much could have gotten except Director. It says that the Director's branch (a surprisingly low 369 people) didn't like it enough.

Besides director Argo got basically everything it was predicted to get. The directors don't like Argo but the film clearly has support in the other branches. If the schedule wasn't so condensed the directors branch might have felt obligated to vote for Argo based on precursors.
