I haven't posted in awhile, and for that I feel just awful. But you see, like so many others I've been stuck in a screening of Les Miserables for the past 18 months. Now that the ordeal is over, I'll need a few days to compose my thoughts, though I fear much has already been said.

Yeah, Oscar, I know. Like these people had Academy Award nominations in third grade.

Taylor Swift and a young Victor Hugo. Oh, what a missed opportunity. At least now they can make a Les Mis prequel a la Shakespeare in Love and win all the Oscarz.

I Les Misérables was what it took for you to get back to us, then I approve of every thing.

Not enough deglam factor though. But I suppose Taylor can Glenn Close her way to a nomination at least.

A Co-worker friend of mine, sent me this link of her son's live version audio of Bring Him Home, if anyone who's a Les Miz nut and likes to soak in anything and everything related to it wants a gander of it. https://soundcloud.com/erikmccormack/bringhimhome

When he was a kid, he appeared on Broadway in the revival of 1776 with Brent Spiner, also that ill-fated musical of Tom Sawyer that briefly ran a bit after that, and he went on tour with Marie Osmond in The Sound of Music as Frederick or Kurt as well. He's out of the business now but still plays in local bars and the like.

Also his name is Erik and he kinda looks like you, Erik!

McTeague: My favorite reviewer in Denmark, Bo Green Jensen, just compared Anne Hathaway's performance to Renée Falconetti.
    I FEEL BETRAYED.

LOL, I don't think he looks much like me but his version of Bring Him Home was quite lovely. Certainly better than Huge Jackass.

On a superficial level I can see it: OMG short hair! OMG extreme close-ups! OMG tears! OMG suffering!

It's like a 'Falconetti in a can' performance for those that don't have time to prepare the whole meal of the original.

    I will buy the blu-ray.

Russell Crowe's hilarious performance is worth every dollar.

Does anything think they will ever release an unabridged version of the soundtrack for this film?

I've been tempted several times to buy the version they have out now, but some of the better songs ("Lovely Ladies", "Who Am I") are not on it. I'd hate to pay $14 now and then have to pay even more later to get the extra songs.

I can't believe they cut "A Little Fall of Rain", SMH. It's actually one of the film's highlights.

I'm most upset by the exclusion of "Do You Hear the People Sing?". The final two minutes are not enough! That being said, I'm in a way glad the full score has not been released. My social life is bad enough as it is.
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.

And I adore A Little Fall of Rain as well. Cutting that, which is so crucial to Eponine's fate is just stupid.
