I watched all 13 episodes over the last couple of days, and I LOVE this show. OMG.

I'm so happy to hear that Netflix originally ordered 26 full episodes, and the second season starts filming in March.

And in reading some spoilers from the British series, I cannot wait until Spacey pushes Kate Mara off a building .

Yeah, I finished this, it's incredible. I'm personally funding Corey Stoll's Emmy Campaign.

I've committed to watching this show with a friend of mine, but three episodes in I sort of despise it, lol. It's just so hammy and self-serious and over-written and what in the bleeding hell was up with the giant peach episode and Soledad O'Brien talking about the glass ceiling of blogging? That shit was comically terrible to an uncomfortable-to-watch degree!

Are they for sure using all of the plot from the British series like this?

I have seen couple of episodes and it is tremendously enjoyable, oh so polished and juicy but it is not anything ground-breaking or even too good to be true (The Wire it ain't.) It is predictable and even a bit over the top (e.g. Spacey and his fourth wall) in some places. Robin Wright Penn is amazing in a role so against her type. Maybe my opinion will change as I see more of Season 1.

Mrs. Bean watched 6 episodes in the middle of the season without me and I feel like I did not miss a thing. I think that says rather a lot.

And any question you did have I couldn't answer... cause plot holes...

Very good series. IMO the standouts were Corey Stoll and Robin Wright. I hope both of them receive some nominations & awards.
I enjoyed every scene of their characters, although I'm a little disappointed in Claire in the last 2 episodes. IMO They changed claire's character too much at the end. I hope next season Claire is like in the first episodes.

I never understood what the point of Robin Wright's character was. I thought she was gonna be Lady MacBeth, but then she's a sorta-spurned lover, and then she wants a baby, and all the while she is the worst boss in history. All of which adds up to nothing for me.

    SPOILERS?

I'm on episode 8 and I'm hooked. I agree this is not a masterpiece but it's entertaining, sleek and the performances are pretty much on point, with Robin Wright, Spacey and Stoll right on top.

I'll gladly go wherever the show wants me to.

I watched the pilot and it was delicious. Wright is great, Spacey is great even though his accent goes in and out, and this proves Kate Mara needed better work to show she's better than Rooney (in both looks and acting).

I loved the entire first season. Sleak, sexy, inriguing and slow-burning in the best possible way. Also really liked pretty much the entire cast and hope for Emmy nominations all around!

I can't believe we're not talking about Kevin Spacey's accent.

Anyway, I think this is mostly pretty great. Although, by the end of the season, everybody is so goddamn deplorable that it's just like "welp!" The season finale ends with a whimper, which I didn't really like, but everything else is really good.

Although I have to talk about the portrayal of journalists and journalistic ethics here. It infuriates me. The insinuation that all Capitol Hill journalists are sleeping with politicians just pisses me off - both because it's completely fabricated and because it paints journalists as conniving, disgusting individuals. Sure, this is accurate to some extent, but painting this picture of their promiscuity as a means to get the story just really irks me. It's unrealistic and marginalized the work true, hard-working journalists in Washington. Okay, done.

This is overrated, over-sold tripe, and if it receives Emmy nominations, outside of maybe Corey Stoll or David Fincher, it will be laughable.

I knew that, I was just hoping that you would provide a link so that I didn't have to look for it myself.

I've still only watched the first three episodes, but Chapter 3 is pretty much F- material for me.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but do we know if shows such as these (distributed online, via Netflix or Amazon) will be eligible for Emmys? It seems that it would need to be originally broadcast through television.
