Yeah, stop trying to make it happen. It's not gonna happen.
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.

Not according so tomeone I knew who worked on that movie. They had the distinct impression Craig hated Fincher. I suppose the feeling could only go one direction, but it is probably mutual.

The romantic relationship, one overdone by Fincher in the first film, between Salander and Blomqvist doesn't go any further than the first book. Blomqvist could easily be cut out of two sequels and it wouldn't matter much. His character is one of the weakest elements (there are more than one) of the books.

LOL, Fincher got it just as the book portrayed it

This sucks if true. I'd love to see the next two parts with Fincher, Mara, & Craig. Hopefully things get worked out by the time they get around to it.

And lol, you guys. You crack me up.

I think Legend Mara has already given her definitive legendary take on the character. She should move on to better projects, especially when Fincher isn't likely to return. And now that Daniel Craig is out too, then all the more reason to leave!

Yep, I'd leave the project too, if I were her, if Fincher didn't return, but...I thought Mara was contractually obligated to be in the sequel? I thought I'd read that somewhere?

If they do the next two and Craig left, it would not be that big of deal. He was solid in the movie but that was one of the very few things the Swedish movie did better.

    Fincher, is what matters.

Yeah, I am sure that would work. Just stick somebody else in there.

No problem here, except it'd be unproductive for an actress to put all the effort into such a difficult role when she's just the replacement. But I do think Mara's performance had some good moments, but was inconsistent and at times very amateurish. And yet she's not even the worst nominee of her year, oh 2011...

I'll only support a Mara replacement if it was for Scarlett Johansson.

Well I've got a better solution than recasting or writing out the character.

    REBOOT!
    Movies recently reviewed by RRA:

    Star Trek (2009)
    Pain & Gain (2013)
    Oblivion (2013)
    Jurassic Park III (2001)
The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)

The New RRA: Less Spam, still 100% ruining AD.

Just recast. Taking out Blomkvist would be insane, especially with the second book.

I actually liked the first movie quite a lot, in that it was interesting to see Fincher add his auteurist slant on this world, and he was able to create something sorta great with the raw screen presence and physicality of Mara in this role. But that's all done; who really cares about a sequel? The story itself isn't particularly interesting. I'd rather see Fincher move on.

I don't see anything wrong with recasting, and I think there's some demand for this, at least internationally.
