For whatever reason, I think Jade Jolie is hilarious. The sight of her cackling, clapping, and snapping as Coco read Serena had me dying of laughter. And it doesn't hurt that her name is so ridiculous. Like...Jade Jolie? LOL. With that said, I can't say that she's actually impressed me with her talent.

So, the actual season itself has been a blast so far, but I'm still not really latching on to any of these contestants.

I continue to really like Detox (and think she's established herself as an early frontrunner), and I also like Roxxxy.

Alaska is one of the funniest contestants they've ever had, but I'm still waiting for her to blow me away (and I'm totally fine with her doing boy drag, but gurl, this was not the Snatch Game and you were just aping Pee Wee Herman the whole time). I think Jinkx might be my all around favorite so far. But there's certainly no Sharons or Latrices or Willams. Not even anybody as fun to hate as Phi Phi. Hell, even Jiggly--mess that she was--was a big personality and fun to have on the show. So many of these girls are just so beige (Ivy, Honey, Lineysha, Vivienne) or fall on the side of "annoying" but in a really dry sort of way (Alyssa, Jade).

Somebody needs to step it up, ASAP.

I totally agree with all of this! I love the season so far but I don't love (or hate) anyone yet. It might just be season 5 fatigue and all of the big personalities have been played out.

Sidebar, Kristen Johnson took to Twitter about the backlash she received from her episode and bitch is on point:

I agree. As a whole this season has been terrific so far, especially last weeks episode and Untucked, but I'm just not that excited about any of these queens individually. Although I realize she's not the best, Coco has been by far the most entertaining one thus far for me. But, I will say that her feud with Alyssa is kind of dumb and I hope they don't focus on it too much anymore.

I'm glad Kristen defended herself. I didn't know she was getting shit for her appearance. And for being too bitchy? It's a drag competition, for chrissakes. I didn't agree with a lot of her opinions, but doesn't matter. She was one of the best guest judges they've had.

Oh totally, and she was right to assume that she could be bitchy on a fucking show about fucking drag queens on a fucking gay network.

Yeah, agree. I've loved Detox and Alaska from before this season, but neither have really stood out as much as I expected/wanted them to so far. That said, I loved Alaska's decision to do boy drag because it is completely within her character. I wish it hadn't been just a PeeWee Herman/Alfalfa ripoff (I mean, when he said his character's name was Buffalo Bill, I immediately went to Silence of the Lambs. He could have been so much more subversive!). Her runway outfit is also the first time it felt like she was demonstrating that broken down, trailer trash Barbie persona her character is based on.

I do really like Coco and even though the feud with Alyssa is annoying, I feel like her emotions were genuine and it's not her fault the editors are placing so much emphasis on this whole thing. Alyssa just looks like she's constantly trying to add two plus two in her head and can't quite figure it out.

Also, Coco must last until the reading challenge. Each week she is just effortlessly throwing out the shade.

I was too, especially since Sharon did that Silence of Lambs parody (Silence of the Trans lol) playing Buffalo Bill (well, Buffalo Jill lol) at the Castro last year.

Vivienne Pinay has got to be the most boring drag queen to ever claim to be a drag queen. You were boring because Roxxxy overshadowed you? I get that she may be overbearing but come on now. You're in a competition with DRAG QUEENS.

I just can't imagine someone ever going to see her perform. Carmen Carerra may have had the personality of a dead fish, but at least she had a look and a whole lotta stage presence -- and was much fishier, by the way.

Anyways, most deserving double elimination ever. What a pathetic lip sync. I kinda felt bad for Honey until I watched Untucked and realized she was basically Milan 2.0.

I would've slayed that fucking lip-sync. The queens finally get to do Britney, and they waste her.

LOL, seriously! How do you fuck up a BRITNEY SPEARS lip sync as a drag queen?!

Also, side note: Travis Wall. Yes, please.

I was was happy that Ru eliminated both of them. Get rid of this dead weight. Vivienne is pretty and all, but gurl if you don't want to constantly get overshadowed do something memorable and interesting instead of just sitting and stewing all the time. Honey and her fucking tunics also needed to go and the less said about that pathetic excuse for a lip sync the better.

The funniest part of this episode, however, was when Alyssa decided to throw Jade under the bus when she wasn't even there. Alyssa has kind of grown on me. She's a bit of a troll, but at least she's fun, has a personality and loves to stir the pot lol.

Agreed. Alyssa is making me laugh.

I don't understand why y'all like Alaska. She's been pretty underwhelming imo.

I think Alaska's one of the naturally funniest people they've ever had on the show, which is why I'm a fan, even though she's yet to blow me away in a challenge or on the runway (though her first week's runway was pretty great). I mean, the description of L'il Poundcake? You KNOW Alaska wrote that. "L'il Poundcake enjoys ridin' dirty and being a straight up motherfuckin' dick pig." Her effortless quips when being critiqued: "Is that your BEST drag?" "Actually, this is Detox's best drag." And maybe the best yet, "Do you have a message that you're trying to convey to the children?" Without missing a beat: "Down with communism." I'm also pretty sure she's made Ru cackle more than any single contestant in the show's history, too, which Ru sorta hinted at, while still reading Alaska when she said "this is not RuPaul's best-friend-out-of-drag-race."

Anyway, yeah, I have to admit, Alyssa is growing on me. Like a fungus, but growing. She might fashion herself into this year's Phi Phi for me: the love to hate her. Right now I'm pretty firmly team Jinkx, though. She's just so adorable, and very funny. And I like her wonky style.

I gotta say that it's pretty lame that in five seasons there's only been ONE San Francisco queen and it was fucking Honey "San Francisco doesn't care about the look" Mahogany? Bitch, please, so glad you went home you tired ho.

Still, I'm continually super shocked that SF isn't represented on this show like it should be.

I've liked Alaska from before the show started airing -- same with Detox. But I can totally understand why someone would find her underwhelming based solely on the show. I think what kupo said is also pretty on point, though. She has amazing timing and a wicked sense of humor. I do wish she'd step up her runways. She's walking too fine a line between fishiness and camp and her drag persona really veers more towards a Real Housewife of the local Trailer Park, which is why I loved the pink splattered outfit.

I don't dislike Alyssa, but her style of drag just does nothing for me. She was the deserving winner of the challenge, though. Even ignoring the fact that she's a dancer, her crazy face was perfect for that part.

Also, I loved that Lineysha had no idea who Diana Ross was (Which: HOW?!) and was still a better Diana Ross than Honey, who, you know, had been asked to play Diana Ross but just wasn't able to.

    .
Alyssa's reaction to that was the best thing she's done all season.

I think Alyssa is so much more fun than Phi Phi ever was though. Alyssa is just annoying and ridiculous, but she isn't bitter like Phi Phi and has more of a sense of humor.

Jinkxx, Detox and Coco (who I find hilarious) have been my favorites thus far. Alaska needs to step it up a bit more and Lineysha might be the fishiest of the bunch but has almost as little personality as Vivienne Pinay.

No one will ever be as vile as Phi Phi. That bitch...

Coco is my life on this show this season. Even with those crazy ass blue eyes bitch is the funniest thing there and lays is fucking down like a good queen does to her subjects.

Coco reading Serena to filth while ignoring Alyssa's attempts at high-fiving her, is probably my favorite drag race moment ever. I was literally gagging lol. I agree with meteor that her performance on the reading challenge will be epic and will rival Juju's.

I can't wait for next week's Snatch Game, which should be a lot of fun as well.
