Spielberg would definitely be big. I heard that the festival has invited Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson in years past, but they've declined. You can't get much bigger than those two, in terms of American actors.
LOL, how about Madonna? Jean Paul Gaultier was on the jury last year...
You all should just chill out. It is going to be Michael Bay. He is a definite auteur and everything he does is big.![]()
Well, if we're talking BIG...Michael Fassbender?
I know he isn't American but still![]()
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.
Kathryn Bigelow?
It's probably Spielberg?
No, Zac, I'm going with my Nanny.
James Cameron?
Michel Haazanavicius maybe? After the success of "The Artist" I could see it happening.
The last french president was Isabelle huppert in 2009 and she's the only one since 2003 (Patrice Chéreau) which makes her the only french president of the last 10 years. After Sean Penn (2008), Tim Burton (2010) & DeNiro (2011) I doubt they will pick another american. A French is more likely or maybe a Canadian (the last one was David Cronenberg in 1999). I can see Polanski too

Latrice Royale!
Has Coppola already done it? His big ang BIG.
I think it was confirmed it was Latrice! :fingerscrossed:
when do they usually announce the line-ups and the competition jury?
The official line-up should be announced on April 18th. The Jury President should have been announced already. But this year it's taking way more time than it usually does. The full jury is announced during the press conf in April, at times it can be a partial announcement.
I hope it´s not Spielberg, I really don´t have any faith on his taste in movies. Scorsese having to reward La Vita e Bella was more than enough.
And oh, Ced, I didn´t remember Coppola did it in 1996. It was a decent winners list after all despite the hilarious Best Actor win for Auteil and his disabled co-star. I would have preferred Breaking the Waves over Secrets and Lies (which I also adore) and Emily Watson over Brenda Blethyn (duh) but well, I could live with those winners.
