People who haven't seen the film should abstain from commenting on that. Never thought I'd see the day where a song by Katy Perry could have as much impact or be used as well as it was used in the film.

To think before seeing the film that I'd cry with "Firework" playing would be, well, ridiculous.

I think the Oscars should bring back the "adapted score" category, but previously written songs being used is otherwise a directorial decision.

I wouldn't contest that, but I'm just saying that this song and Whitney's version and that movie will always be linked. Sorry Dolly, but MANY people don't even know that she sang the original version.
