I really don't know about an award like this.
Like, you know... Puccini's Nessun Dorma in Killing Fields. How do you beat that? I guess it would "best use", but I don't know how much merit there's in that.

I always wished they had this category for trailers. I associate Scala Brothers' "Creep" with The Social Network more than any song from that actual film.

I think the Oscars should bring back the "adapted score" category, but previously written songs being used is otherwise a directorial decision.
Like, isn't 'I Will Always Love You' from The Bodyguard be like the ultimate example of this. I will ALWAYS associate that song with that movie and, if it had been original, it would have been the 'My Heart Will Go On' of 1992.
