I'm amused that the top iTunes download with the word "Glee" in it is
102. Jonathan Coulton - Baby Got Back (In the Style of Glee)
so titled because Glee ripped off his cover version. Apparently good publicity for him.

and they never let me down. Try to get ‘em away from me and I’ll eat you alive.
Tegan and Sara's new album is fucking fantastic. I'm very impressed.
Listening to new Local Natives now. Loving it, unsurprisingly.
'Hero' by Family of the Year is quite solid. It takes times to realize it but its worth it. The song is somewhat similar to what Trampled by Turtles would do (although the former are a bit less folk.)
I am so late to the party but HOT DAYUM!![]()
So Kelis has a new album coming, right? This must be the intro...

I was going to say that Tegan and Sara's Heartthrob was "fucking fantastic" but mrazrockit got there first. Just ridiculously wonderful. Favorite pop album since Robyn's Body Talk.

New Depeche Mode single:

Pitchfork announced the headliners for their rest this summer: Bjork, Belle and Seabastian and...R. Kelly.
Apparently, the My Bloody Valentine album will finally drop tonight. OMFG
Um, if anyone should be getting the "..." treatment it's B&A, dyed. R.Kelly is fucking awesome (for a fest, where he'll surely be playing his hits), and he's FROM Chicago. It's amazing.
But Bjork outdoors seems like such a waste.
There is a lot of talk about Trent Reznor's new band and video given how gloomy and dark it is.
I actually think all of those headliners are weird and dumb. R. Kelly is fun in a sort of ironic, nostalgic kind of way, but not in a "I'm going to spend a lot of money to see you headline a festival" kind of way. P4K joins Coachella in having strange, underwhelming names at the top of the bill. By all accounts, Lollapalooza is heading down the same path, unless they get Daft Punk or Justin (which I think would be amazing).
MY FUCKING WORLD JUST GOT THIS MUCH BRIGHTER AGAIN

Fall Out Boy unveiled plans for a new album and world tour on Monday, three years after the pop punk band's four members announced a hiatus to pursue solo projects.
Ugh. This is the most fantastic news.I love their new single - I hoped that, if they got back together, they would incorporate a lot of the innovations Stump worked into his solo album, which they did with aplomb. It's pretty lyrically empty (which is weird for an FOB song), but it's better than 90% of the club-bangers I've heard this year.
The new FOB single reminded me how much I loved this song the first time I listened to it.
I am just going to spew all my FOB love everywhere, and also mention that Folie A Deux is my #2 album of the 2000s. It's absolutely gorgeously orchestrated. And maybe I should've given this its own thread, but I was pretty sure it'd be quickly overcome with snide comments/"why is this a thread?"s.
Listening to the new MBV album at the moment.
I'll have to let these songs settle into my brain; they were never an easy or accessible band in the first place, not to mention that it's hard not to have HUGE expectations after a 21-year wait and when your previous album is one of the greatest of all time.
I'm enjoying it and trying to absorb the melodies and the sounds.
