Did he write and record this music yesterday? They were just married in the last quarter of last year. I thought there was a process in producing music but apparently it happens over night.
There was NO reason for that song to be 8 minutes long.... none at all. It's verging on the self-indulgent.
Romney's less subtle campaign message: "Don't ask questions and just vote for me!!"
Looks like Justin and Jay Z might tour together this summer. From Pollstar.com:
At the time of this post, details about the rumored Jay-Z/Timberlake tour hadn’t been made official yet. Here’s the story so far.
Timberlake, whose performance at the Grammys included a cameo from Jay-Z, apparently told at least one reporter on the red carpet that fans would be seeing the two stars on stage together again soon.
The New York Post reports that Timberlake said, “We’re definitely going to go on tour . . . I don’t know how much I should say . . . It’s going to be a lot of fun, I know that.” According to the Post’s sources, the “we” in question is J.T. and Beyoncé’s husband.
Rolling Stone has its sources too, reporting that “while talks are still ongoing, the tour as currently planned would include 11 to 13 stadium dates.” RS points out that Timberlake’s official Twitter page tweeted over the weekend “big news coming after Justin’s Grammys performance.” So, we’ll have to wait and see.
Grammy for David Fincher?![]()
There's a fine song in there if you cut the horrid intro (seriously wtf?) and Jay-Z's part.
Not even a David Fincher video could save this song. And to my surprise, it's not even a great Fincher video. Still meh! And that Mirrors song... ugh...
Suit & Tie sounds like the sort of song I would have pretended to like in 2004. To show how, you know, "into pop" I was.
Its always nice to see a David Fincher directed music video nowadays. It doesn't seem like he does too many videos anymore. I remember he did a Nine Inch Nails video awhile back, and I thought it had seemed like ages since his last music video. Though, the NIN and Timberlake videos probably has more to do with his friendships with Reznor (since at least the 90s) and Timberlake (since at least The Social Network) than anything else.
The 20/20 Experience is streaming on iTunes now. You just have to be in the US store to access it.
I'm about halfway through, and so far everything is really impeccable and polished and pretty great, but I can't shake the feeling that it really could use *some* element that's even remotely unexpected.
"Push and Shove" girl is miles better than both "Suit and Tie" and the album cut of "Mirrors". (The version JT did on SNL of 'Mirrors' was sooo much better because it didn't have that dumbass electronic-NSYNC crap.) But again, I'm only one song in... and this interlude to the next song is awkward.
Nearing the end, and I think the two songs released before the album are actually among the weaker tracks.
Starting this now.
"Pusher Love Girl" is great and 10x better than "Suit & Tie."
Listening to Mirrors, now, and I like it better than I remembered, though I still think several songs outshine it.
This "Strawberry Bubble Gum" track is a freaking jam.
