Academy Award Winner Adrien Brody in a movie by the Slap Chop Guy

There are bad trailers, and trailers so bad they're good, and then trailers SO BAD that you start wondering if someone out there has proof that Brody killed a man or something. Because there's really no other explanation.

I'm confused by the disapproval of his post-Oscar career.

King Kong - big hit, could have been an Oscar contender
a bunch of low budget indies - (The Experiment has a really good movie in there, it just didn't come together.)
    2 Wes Anderson movies
    Midnight in Paris
Predators - not a good movie, but the lead in a big franchise isn't a bad thing

And a couple of movies with a culty following - Splice, The Brothers Bloom

It's not like he went Cuba Gooding on us.

I agree, I don't know what people were expecting? I have always liked him but he was never going to become a huge movie star or get top offers. I think he's a good actor and he's done pretty well since his win. He gave great performances in Detachment and Wrecked recently and I think he should have had Oscar consideration for both performances.

Anyway I did watch this movie but only because I kept getting screening invites since 2011. The one that I went to offered two free movie tickets so I thought I would give it a try. But it is probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. It is just so nasty and ridiculous. I didn't laugh once. I think it's been two years since they have been screening this around my area.

He's great in Detachment in spite of god-awful writing and direction, he's in my honorable mentions for Lead Actor this year.

Did you see Predators? I thought it was a great movie. Brody did well in it, too.

For the record, I love how Tracy wrote the thread title.

    Hilarious set-up, then punchline.

I did, and I thought it stunk. Wasted a good premise.

I've been getting test screening invites to this movie for at least a year, and they always offere a free movie ticket out of it, as if they're just begging people to watch the movie.

Maybe they should start offering to pay them?

Of course looking at this movie, I doubt even that would work.

I've actually been to a test screening where they gave the audience $5 after the film. I can't remember what movie it was, but it was one of earlier test screenings I went to when I first moved to LA, and that was back when I saw some pretty awful test screenings.

They're up to two tickets recently lol. This movie is so bad though that I wouldn't even recommend it for the free tickets.
