Except that I can see the Watts thing. It's over the top, physical and loony tunes. Mirren has one monologue (which is in the trailer) and it's not that good, at all.

Awww...a shame she is unavailable, since she will be babysitting for Naomi again that day while gurl goes on the campaign trail...

I'm sure Samanta Barks and Abbie Cornish would be happy to help Keira, all she has to do is ask.

As has been the pattern for the past few years, BAFTA will be a massive pointer towards the Oscars...

Since 2005 they have correctly predicted the best actress winner in all but one occasion...

    2005 Witherspoon
    2006 Mirren
    2007 Cotillard
    2008 Winslet
    2010 Portman
    2011 Streep

    that's a hell of a record...

HOWEVER - with nominees they always seem to include some crazy/unexpected choices:

Zhang (house of flying daggers), Weisz (constant gardener), Ronan (the lovely bones), Moore (TKAAR), Rapace (dragon tatoo), Bejo (the artist)

so I would not be surprised to see Dench, Hunt, Mirren, Smith or Weisz turn up at BAFTA...Ugh

(if Weisz turns up I will have to totally rethink predictions...is she even eligable?)

I don't think Weisz is eligible for BAFTA. I believe her film was a 2011 UK release.

    Will Oscar have Riva Fever?

Yeah, that's going to be a slightly lopsided year I imagine. Maybe Holland and McGregor will get nominated and Watts gets snubbed.

lol, not happening the best actress category is very weak this year. I bet that the nominees will be Watts, Maribel Verdú for Blancanieves, Penélope Cruz por Twice born and Aida Folch for The artist and the model.

I am unwisely predicting Beasts to do really well at the BAFTAs (Actress, Supporting Actor, Screenplay), but I feel like I shouldn't even try since they're gonna do their thing and I'm gonna fail anyway But hopefully Lawrence, Chastain, Cotillard and Riva get in, as that would constitute an amazing 4/5 from my ballot, minus the ineligible Weisz. The fifth spot, just not Mirren please, cause that seals the deal for the Oscars and I really feel she's the only one in the race that does absolutely nothing.
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.

Chastain/Cotillard/Lawrence/Riva/Weisz would also be my perfect line-up! (Well, I haven't seen SLP, but Lawrence can't miss, so I guess the best plausible line-up would have to include her.)

Weisz is ineligible for BAFTA. Her film was a 2011 UK release.
