Sounds like the Weinstein machine hasn't thrown in the towel for SLP either. Lawrence will be on Kimmel tonight and De Niro + Cooper will be on Katie Couric's show Monday where De Niro apparentley got choked up talking about his personal connection to the film. I still think De Niro can win this (in fact, I think any of the 5 nominees in that category still can).

Plus Lawrence is on Conan next week and getting her award at Santa Barbara FF tomorrow (Sat).

ETA: LMAO at Jennifer running into the studio. They're running the rest of the interview tomorrow. Weinstein gets two nights of publicity on CNN.

Kris Tapley has always been terrible. Guy is the only reason I read InContention and his defense of SLP is sublime.

The man has an incredibly easy and fun job, yet seems to both hate his job and have a terribly negative personality. Wait, and I'm surprised he didn't like the unabashedly feelgood SLP?

Tapley and Devin Faraci need to just get together and have a tool-off.

I remember when Tapley said he saw John Hawkes looking dejected at the Critics Choice Awards, after being snubbed for the Oscar nom earlier that morning. Tapley went up to him and told him he was robbed. Pretty sure Hawkes just wanted him to stfu and get away.

Faraci can at least be funny when he's not being borderline offensive. Tapley is just a full blown prick.

He also felt the need to point out that Ben Affleck looked happy to see him(Tapley).

eh, can't agree with you there. I can kind of deal with Tapley on his podcast, I can't take Faraci at all in any form.

Tapley also brags when he's talking to celebrities. He's like 'Hope you all enjoy the SAGs, I'll be hanging with Jason Reitman'. Oh my god, cool fucking story bro. You're not watching one of the major shows that your job revolves around! He's also been sucking Affleck's dick all season and went up to him during the Critics Choice Awards and was like 'He says it's nice to see a familar face'. Gimme a break, Kris.

Edit: lol, beaten to the punch.

I met Tapley once several years ago at a Q&A he was moderating for Babel. This was back when he still occassionally posted here actually, and he seemed to recognize me when I told him my handle.

Anyway, he seemed nice enough, but he had a bit of an aloof air about him nonetheless.

like I said earlier, I can kind of tolerate him on the podcast..it is everything else I have trouble with.

He's usually fine on the Podcast, but I'm not looking forward to the next one. He got super defensive (probably partially him being genuine, partially him wanting to be Affleck's BFF) when Anne insisted Argo didn't have much of a chance left on the last one (to the point of yelling for a good 5 minutes), we now know that it obviously does (to say the least). He's going to be insufferable.

I don't think he was totally off base, Anne was kind of sticking with the traditional "oscar stats" and ignoring kind of the weird reality of the race this year.

That's a bingo. There's at least one Wells article a week that gives me a good laugh. Him threatening to jump off a bridge if Lincoln won PGA was gold.

Wells is a riot, how can anyone hate him? Tapley on the other hand... I thought Lodge's article was sublime and more evidence that he is incontention's saving grace. I have my issues with the film personally but the majority of criticisms I have seen levelled at it by pundits have all been way off base imo. There's this constant through stream in the criticisms that SLP is something inherantly inferior and unworthy that has nothing to do with actually analysing its strengths and weaknessses.
