The Wii controller is, by far, the worst.
It's marginally good at being a motion controller but if you ever have to actually use it to play a real game...eek.
The XBox 360 controller really is the best.
WE'RE GONNA FIGHT!
This weekend...one last chance to save Halle's career from complete oblivion. Oh, wait...
"...it's already done."
#THECALL.
Also, anybody here picked up Ni No Kuni (I think it was you who had mentioned it, shooter)? I'm a big Ghibli and JRPG fan, so it seems like a perfect fit. Getting pretty good reviews, too, though everybody seems to note there's lots of grinding required. But I think I'd be okay with that.
The Wii Classic controller is OK as a SNES update kinda thing. I do agree the 360 is best. Good size, comfortable shape, easy to access. And the sticks are in the right spot.
Nintendo has always had the best d-pad, though (if not always the best execution of it) and the Wii buttons are the most luxurious. Sony's are too mushy and Microsoft's too clicky.
PS4 unveiling in 24 hours ... can't wait
I got an email from Sony, asking if I want to RSVP the event at 6 today.

And they gave me a $10 PSN gift card. I wonder why?
Oh wait, the PS4 is here. Or announced.
Thoughts peeps? The Sony PS4 will have no boot-up time according to system architect Mark Cerny. Pressing “on” will bring you directly to the home screen.
Meanwhile, downloads can take place in the background, even while the system is off. Players will also be able to play games while they download.
The system will also go much further than current generation systems toward integrating a social media experience. There’s a great deal of talk about a social network for games.
I get the feeling that Sony is hammering home social a bit too hard, though it’s possible that the new “Share” button on the PS4 controller will allow Sony to really push eSports.
Interestingly, you will also be able to hand over control of your game to people remotely via the Share button as well, or send in drops (such as health packs) via the social system.
Better than any talk of social, the PlayStation Store will now include every possible title as a digital download According to Gaikai’s David Perry.
The Vita will also be tightly integrated with the PS4. “Our long-term goal is to make every PS4 title playable on the Vita,” says Perry.
Sony is also working on a long-term goal to make the entire catalog of PS3 games available on any device, according to Perry. Ideally they will make all PS1 and PS2 games available as well.

Love the boot-up times and the like, but so far, ho-hum.
Pretty FPS, though.

Yeah I have another device for my social networking. Its called A COMPUTER.
And them making a big deal about downloading PS1/2/3 games onto my console...we already have that with the PS3.
True the "no more booting" is a plus, but that never really bothered me.
I have to say, this doesn't impress me so far.

Duncan Jones tweeted this.
New Sony console. Know Im not their target audience, but a "share" button? Really? Maybe they can add an "add rainbow to pic" button too.

Looks like I spoke too soon on the controller front, they have changed it in minor but smart ways.
Otherwise this announcement only proves the entire futility of this new generation. What a piece of shit. The Share button is maybe the worst thing ever.
I can live out the share button but it might be an interesting feature once in awhile. Not a deal breaker.
The conference was ok but nothing mind blowing. The Blizzard announcement was laughable after saying how they love consoles and the PS4 they announce an almost year old game also coming out on the PS3.
Well at least we're getting a new INFAMOUS game out of this.

Who didn't see this coming? I don't find it particularly intriguing, but all media is collapsing in on itself, and social media is here to stay. This sort of direction was an inevitability.
So long as the hardware is powerful, and the library strong (always PS's strengths and main selling points) I'll be perfectly happy.
So what does this achieve that the PS3 doesn't? PS4 isn't backward compatible. So you just have a new machine with irrelevant power upgrades (not the lack of emphasis on this...) and an empty games library.
This generation is the first true, unambiguous cash grab. If the time was going to come when consoles began their spiral, this should be it.
I just don't like the idea of streaming games, because Wi-Fi never fails or has seizures right? What if I'm playing a game and actually beating a level that's been an obstacle, only for my Wi-Fi to go die and thus kill my game progress?
(Of course some will use that argument against me considering Netflix. But its a movie, you can always go back to where you were before you got cut off. Games you can't unless you passed a save checkpoint and so forth.)

They clarified you do not need to always be connected to use the PS4, so that's good.
I must say I am excited for the controller. Minus the touch pad. Which is just ridiculous.
