    I was being facetious.

I don't mind Jennifer Lawrence, REALLY, but I haven't loved her in anything I've seen her in.

    Jessica Chastain, I LOVE.

Of course not. But it is a valid reason to prefer the one over the other?

I saw Zero Dark Thirty last night and got to say no contest between Chastain and Lawrence. Lawrence being nominated is a joke that shines, yet again, a spotlight on how critics and the Academy Awards are often blinded by the young, likeable woman next door who gives an adequate performance (even though I would not rate it even that high). Yes - I know there is more to it. She is heading a new franchise and the character is a male wish fulfillment fantasy (the much younger sexy woman who puts up with the jerk behavior of the guy and is redeemed by him as much as he is redeemed by her). I don't think Chastain's work here is her strongest work (for example: Take Shelter or The Debt - a great performance in a mediocre film) but it is still a fine performance. In a year that features astonishing work by Nina Hoss (Barbara), Rachel Weisz (The Deep Blue Sea), Hani Furstenberg (The Loneliest Planet), Melanie Lynskey (Hello I Must Be Going), Marion Cotillard (Rust and Bone) among others, it is a shame that it comes down to a two person race where one's performance is not even remotely in the same league as the great work turned in this year.

Saying whatever is on your mind in any situation can be entertaining, but it can also be wildly offensive. In this interview with Rolling Stone, Lawrence asserts that she was "so dykey" because she played sports as a child.

Chalk it up to her age, but I think that 22 is old enough to know better.

Considering that it's the first time most of us know about these interviews and such, they don't seem like big deals to me.

So? It's not like she said "ALL FAGS SHOULD BURN IN HELL!!!!" or something. People on this site talk like that. It's really not that offensive.

If the worst you can dig up on someone is that they don't like silent movies and they call their cat the name of a famous transgender person because she though it was one gender and turned out to be another, then I don't think this person is so bad, especially considering how awful people in her business can be.

Clearly Jennifer Lawrence is the Brigitte Bardot of America - let's throw her in jail for her ugly hate speech!

Jennifer Lawrence was outspoken and at times can offend a few people. You know who else was like that? Katharine Hepburn.

Except Katharine Hepburn was classy and revolutionary.

Jennifer Lawrence loves Honey Boo Boo.

You're just supporting her because she was in the mafia with you!

Also, she was a secret Nazi in her spare time:

Just because she likes Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Honey Boo Boo, it doesn't mean she's not as classy as Kate Hepburn or Jessica Chastain. Her favourite books are Anna Karenina, The Rum Diary and JD Salinger's A Catcher in the Rye and Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters. Besides, she's young, and the youth of this generation weren't educated like Jessica Chastain and Kate Hepburn were when they were teens.

LOL. I'm not as young as Jennifer or as old as Jessica, but I fail to see a huge difference in generational education. Especially between two people who are 13 years apart. Or did you mean, Jessica went to college and Jennifer didn't? Again I fail to see what any of this has to do with their acting.

LOL, Lawrence's favorite book is Catcher in the Rye? BOO! It's more respectable that she loves Honey Boo Boo Child or whatever the hell she's called. LOL, I think Lawrence's lack of culture is hilarious and is starting to make me like her, despite the fact that she's not a good actress. At least she's entertaining in a shameless kind of way. Now I want her to win the Oscar. The combo of Lawrence + Hathaway speaches are going to be AH-mazing!
