    Question

Jessica Biel was good in Total Recall and Playing The Field and received good reviews as well. I don't get it. Is she becoming one of the actors who are going to be nominated for every movie they make?

I hate how unispired these have gotten. They just look at RT and see what has the lowest score and pick whomever's the most famous/biggest trainwreck and award them. If this was the 80's then they'd be picking things like The Paperboy or Les Miserables and would make a whole new TV category just for Lindsay Lohan.

I haven't seen Cloud Atlas but being so divisive I thought it would show up here.

And shortlisting Gael for Casa de mi Padre is absolut nonsense. The whole film was meant to look campy. Anyway...

If the film is deemed bad, it seems the performances are deemed bad by default.

I though Rosamund Pike was the best thing about Wrath of the Titans! She's so adorable!

Dear god, it's cause even though it's supposed to be about the worst movies of a year, it's actually some irritating hipster contest where they award whichever movie's the most bash-able. The Paperboy and Les Miserables are in no way worse than Madea, Oogieloves, 1000 Words or *shudder* Atlas Shrugged. I'm already getting sick of putting in Twilight every year for publicity when there were WAY worse movies that should've gotten the nominations. THAT's uninspired. It was like when Blair Witch was nominated because it was... I really don't know. None of them watch REALLY bad movies or they'd have given a nomination Atlas Shrugged last year, because while Transformers 3 or New Year Eve were horrible, that was just revolting. It's all about the publicity and shit.

Like now. Twilight is likely to get nominated and probably win just because it's the last, most important, and most popular entry. It wasn't very good, sure, but really, even Twilight haters could acknowledge that Atlas Shrugged or 1000 Words or Madea are worse movies. It's winning because the decision will be deemed anti-pop culture and everyone will be fine with it. They never really give Worst Film to THE worst film, unless it's famous enough. But hey, don't take this to mean it's not a good thing. It's fine. The move with Sandra Bullock was a stroke of genius publicity. It's the same thing with the Oscars. How many times has the Oscars actually given a "Best Picture" everyone can agree on in the past decade? I'd say, about once.

Yeah, they've actually admitted they choose nominees who'll bring them the most press. Which is why it's no surprise Streisand, JLaw, and Twilight are included. But why it IS surprising they ignored Depp in Dark Shadows. That should've been a gimme.

How do you shortlist Arnold and Bruce Willis for The Expendables 2, but Stallone goes unmentioned?

The mentions for Benjamin Walker and Mary Elizabeth Winstead are ridiculous. They were the saving grace of that damned film!

Razzies are alot like the Oscars, it's all about hype and press and sometimes they do get the winner right.

BATTLEFIELD EARTH? Absolutely deserved the Razzie that year, and won the Decade Razzie too I believe. It deserved that honor too.

Also, I would vote Dan Bradley for Worst Director. He won't win (I smell an OOGIELOVES: BIG BALLOON ADVENTURE landslide year) but he would get my vote.

How bad did Bradley do? His remake actually invites, no demands, a positive re-evaluation of the original RED DAWN. You're screwed when people generally agree your premise is actually more unrealistic than the original was for the Cold War era. And worse, it's shakey cam galore as post-action nirvana. It's actually worse shakey cam than HUNGER GAMES. Think about that for a moment.

Very true. Tom O'Neil seemed convinced that Nicole Kidman could get both a Razzie and an Oscar nomination for the same film (The Paperboy), since so many critics thought The Paperboy was trash. He didn't realise that the Razzies rarely do "shock value" nominations anymore (remember the days when movies that went on to become classics like The Shining were nominated for Razzies?), and Kidman would not get in there, because her reviews were too good.

Another reason why O'Neil has become such an outdated prognasticator. He doesn't even realise that the Razzies don't go after movies like The Paperboy anymore.

How dare they pre-nominate Sigourney Weaver!

Her movies may mostly be crap nowadays but she's always the best thing in them. Also, I could have used this embarrassing information in her Meryl Streep Mafia write-up if it had happened a few weeks ago!
