The New York Times Critics Nominees

Interesting set, the most WTF mention though is Matthias from Rust and Bone on Dargis supporting actor list.

Yeah. MAthias is a lead even more than Cotillard. Also Dargis didn't like Lincoln at all. like not at ALL. While she had too much love for Silver Linings. Jackie Weaver, really?

I think Scott having Charlize in Supporting for Snow White is my WTF pick here.

Manohla is always right. Championing Silver Linings Playbook? Ugh, how perfect.

I love that pick. I wouldn't nominate her, but it's a fun pick nonetheless.

I just found out that Dargis nominated Cosmo the dog from Beginners last year in supporting; so Matthias making it in the wrong category doesn't surprise much anymore.

Great, that Scott and Dargis both mentioned Nina Hoss.
    Absolutely wonderful performance.

Two Rosemarie DeWitt - Your Sister's Sister nominations.

    This makes me so happy.

Love that Manohla ignored Beasts, and nommed Hathaway...for TDKR. Awesome.

Really lame that Holy Motors didn't get mentioned more.

Even they have no clue what to do with the Supporting categories.

The top four categories contain mostly great picks though. I wish the Oscars would look like this.

All the amour for Amour warms my heart. Haneke, Trintignant, Riva, the movie, and the screenplay on every list is just like

I'd have nominated her for Prometheus, but she gave an outstanding performance in an otherwise average movie, so it's a great pick.

    DUN LET GO!!!!!!!!!!!

Manohla's nod for Hathaway's Catwoman makes my day.

It will be really hard for her to top that with Fantine.

Matthias is leading in R&B, no doubt about it...but actually even HELEN HUNT is colead in THE SESSIONS and nobody seems to care for her fraud category!

Beyond the Charlize Theron mention, the weirdest inclusion is actually Manohla Dargis featuring Hugh Grant for The Pirates! Band of Misfits in the Supporting Actor category. Not only was he lead actor in that, it was a voice role in an animated flick that hasn't been particularly praised.

You think that's the most WTF-worthy mention? Really? REALLY?

Matthias Schoenaerts deserves every bit of awards attention, its sad to see him get passed over by critics groups.

Category fraud or not, I'll take it.

I get that no one has seen this The Pirates! Band Of Misfits movie, but I laughed hard when I saw Hugh Grant's name in supporting actor for it.
