A shame Laurence was only recognized for its acting.

Still, any ink for Clement is great news to me.

Yes, it's pretty weird Laurence doesn't get nominations in the main Canadian categories.

It's also kind of strange to see three French-spoken films filling the foreign-language category for a Canadian critic group (even if Vancouver is not part of the French-speaking Canada).

I'm still amazed of how all critics lists look like Oscar ballots this year.

I met Suzanne Clement at London Film Festival. Nicest person at the whole event and gives a fabulous performance in the film.

Everything for Zero Dark Thirty and Holy Motors is wonderful.

Everything for The Master is awful. Between that and neither Poupaud nor Clement winning... ugh.

Those winners don't include the Canadian categories that they were nommed in, so maybe they did?

    Unfortunately not.

In the Canadian film categories, Kim Nguyen's Rebelle, a drama about child soldiers in Congo, won for best Canuck movie, while lead Rachel Mwanza won for best actress and Serge Kanyinda was selected best supporting actor.

And another Canadian film, Beyond the Black Rainbow, won three awards, including best British Columbia film, best Canadian director for Panos Cosmatos and best actor in a Canadian film forMichael Rogers.
