I agree. With Django actors or Henry is a cathegory I'd expect 3/5 with Bardem as the more viable odd man out

This is like a "one of these is not like the others" game.

Yeah poor thing will never be the bride, even when she is nominated with her co-star people always prefer her co-star

I said months ago that if I were an Academy member, I'd probably vote for Field just to hear her speech. It'll be better than whatever overly rehearsed sap that Hathaway comes up with. I do like Hathaway and have no problem with her winning, but the speeches we're about to navigate through are going to make me think back on Swank fondly.

    True.

It would be something like this...

But I think Sally would be a deserving winner for her performance.

LOL, that's speech is as nauseating as her performance is loud.

    Dame Leo ponders,

Man, it could be a REALLY bad day for Character Actress Dowd's husband on Thursday no? All that money spent out of their own pocket to send out DVD's. Will it be worth it? Or does he need a divorce lawyer? These are the thoughts on my mind as we approach D Day.

La Dowd's husband is Larry Arancio , a very well known acting coach , he even coached Lady Gaga. I'm sure they have plenty of money. it's not like she's on welfare and paying for it herself.

I think a lot of us are expecting for this category to surprise on Thursday morning, and I think I've realised that there would be no bigger surprise than Nicole Kidman being nominated. I mean, sure, Golden Globe and SAG nominations made this seem possible, but does anyone still really believe that she can get nominated for THIS performance? It is a FABULOUS performance, but it is in a little seen and often criticised film. I think I will STILL be SHOCKED if she is nominated, and that may be the only big surprise on nomination morning, because I really think we are looking at the potential to go 19/20 with SAG with DiCaprio being the only one to break through.

Are we underestimating Dench as a safe default 5th place nominee considering the industry love for "Skyfall" and her stellar year? She'll have BFCA and BAFTA and if both Adams' and Kidmans' films prove too difficult she's next in line. I sort of think Smith is taking her spot though and she really should have made SAG.
