Not sure why this group should be singled out for recognizing Argo when it was contending at both the L.A. And N.Y. critics meetings.

Spielberg vs. the Industry. Who Will Win In The End?
Spielberg lost.
Argo wins here?
Cloud Atlas for Editing!(I'll take what I can get.)
How can one group name Holy Motors the best foreign film of the year, and This Is Not a Film the best documentary, only to turn around and say that Argo is the best (English-language) film of the year? That... doesn't make sense.
their nominations were much more inspired than their winners.
Still a very balanced set of winners, without throwing too many awards at one film. I don't like their conventional BP choice, but it's hard to slam a group that gives awards to The Master, Moonrise Kingdom, ZDT, Holy Motors, and Cloud Atlas.

All that matters is that Anne Hathaway wins.
expecially Best Picturetheir nominations were much more inspired than their winners.
Another win for PTA in Directing.
Without counting the minor critic awards, he's got LAFCA & runners up in NSFC and NYFCA and Boston. Not to mention Best Director at Venice.
I still think he has a small chance of making the nominations in Best Director.
