Okay! So is WALL-E the only film to be nominated for a straight credits song since the change? I know TS3 had a montage/clips attached to its credits when its song played.
The odds are still stacked against Skyfall. It could happen, but I think both Brave songs and Suddenly are likelier. If there's any credits song with a strong chance, it's probably Still Alive.

The voting system also has been changed, so you can no longer actively vote against a song you don't like. Whereas the last couple of years that has been an option. Songs like Skyfall are the first to go under their old system, because people are more willing to vote against something popular.
Even though it appears during the credits, the credits are animated and super stylized (similar to Wall-E's) I don't see at as being as much of a detractor here.
Yes, we have again the old voting system (a rank from 1 to 5). The only difference is that the members will have a DVD with all the songs in contention with means that at least they will hear all the songs before voting.
I don't have Learn me right in the top 15 because I doubt the Academy is going to nominate Mumford and sons when they can nominate John Powell for Ice age, Alexandre Desplat por Rise of the guardians or Hans Zimmer for Madagascar 3, especially considering that the three songs are better than the songs from Brave. Also This gift is written by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglova, I believe both are returning this year.
I guess the nominees can be:
01. Skyfall, Skyfall
02. Suddenly, Les misérables
03. Love always comes as a surprise, Madagascar 3
04. This gift, The odd life of Timothy Green
05. Ancora qui, Django unchained
Jali Awards Best Actress 1920-1925
1920 Tora Teje, Erotikon // 1921 Pola Negri, The wildcat
1922 Anna May Wong, The toll of the sea // 1923 Marion Davies, Little old New York
1924 Marie Prevost, The marriage circle // 1925 Gloria Swanson, Stage struck
"This Gift" from "The Odd Life of Timothy Green"
"Learn Me Right" from "Brave"
"Pi's Lullaby" from "Life of Pi"
"Suddenly" from "Les Misérables"
"Who Did That to You?" from "Django Unchained"
Having seen "Les Mis" now I don't think Suddenly is winning. It's a nice little number, but it's pretty soft and it leaves a pretty fleeting impression. With all of the big songs before and after its pretty easy to forget its even there.
How cool would be to have Arcade Fire, Mumford and sons and Florence and the machine as Oscar nominees
But it's not gonna happen, I guess.
I have succesfully convinced myself "Breath of Life", my personal winner, has no shot, so I won't be disappointed. But I'll be pissed if "Skyfall" misses now that it's strangely eligible. Also rooting for "Strange Love" and "Abraham's Daughter".
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.
I really loved "Freedom" from Django. That's definitely my favorite of those I've heard.

I just realized that if both Skyfall and Who Did That To You? are nominated then Paul Epworth will be a double nominee. He co-wrote both.
I'm rooting for "Ancora Qui," from Django Unchained. I'd love to see Ennio Morricone winning a competitive Oscar at last, at age 84 -- even it is just for Best Song. "Suddenly" from Les Misérables and the theme from Skyfall are not locks, because there are no locks in this bizarro category. Something obvious always fails to make the cut.
I've actually just listened to every Oscar eligible song that's available on the internet. This year actually has a lot of really good songs AND songs the Academy will probably go for. So I'm not expecting another 2 nominee year. I think the surest bets are the two Brave songs followed by Skyfall. The Academy went with Eminem with 8 Mile and will surely not look past Adele when she's at her height. The bottom two I also feel strong about. "From Here to the Moon and Back" from "Joyful Noise" has the "Transamerica" song written all over it. And "Everybody Needs a Friend" from "Ted." Remember, all the members are doing is listening to the song. They probably won't have even seen many of these movies.
Does anyone remember if "Gollom's Song" from "The Two Towers" was disqualified? If it was then that means every Lord of the Rings song has been nominated and you could bet that they would share Peter Jackson's tastes again this year, but I think they just didn't nominate it (even though it was my favorite of the three).
I'd be really surprised if the Academy goes for any of the Django Unchained music. They just haven't nominated music like that before even though its excellent. Other odd ones that you might see "Snake Eyes" from "Promised Land" and "Casa De Mi Padre," although I'd be pleasantly shocked on that one. Pi's Lullaby has 127 Hours like brevity and they might go for that. And of course, you can't toss out anything from Les Miserables, but Suddenly just isn't an important enough song in my eyes. But who knows, with the most unpredictable branch.
BTW, the Oscars could potentially have on its TV Promo live performances from Adele, Mumford & Sons, Arcade Fire, Owl City, Christina Aguillara, Dolly Parton, Katy Perry, Jon Bon Jovi, Florence & the Machine, Jordin Sparks, the cast of Les Miserables and a song with Ted. People might actually watch this show.
