I'm closing this thread.
I will make a new thread for criticism of this film. That means you have actual criticism (positive, negative, academic) and not speculation. It means you need to have seen the film.
I will open a second thread, in Current Events,1 where you can discuss this film in non-criticism (only) contexts. That includes political discussions insofar as they don't stem directly from analysis of the film. Normally I am loathe to make such a separation in discussion (it is, really, an impossible separation) but given the inability of anyone to discuss this film without it being turned into a completely untenable debate, I'm afraid it is necessary.
Hopefully everyone with an interest in this film, or at least an interest that leads them to post thousands of words on it, will see the damn movie and then the second thread will be wholly unnecessary.
