Has anyone posted this already on the Les Mis or the other supporting actress thread?

Anne Hathaway apparently said the following (the website doesn't seem very reputable)

    http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/74284408.html
"So I'm of two minds, which is one, 'Oh my gosh, could you imagine if it came true?' and two, 'Can you imagine how embarrassing it'll be if it doesn't happen if I don't get nominated?' So I'm just trying to keep my feet on the ground at the moment."

Watching Ann Dowd's performance as Busy Phillips' mom on Freaks and Geeks really puts into perspective the term "Character Actress Dowd" lol.

I was hoping Dowd would get nominated at SAG just so Busy could say her name

If Ann Dowd did this performance in a movie she would probably be Oscar nominated already

Melissa Leo got to have used that as research for The Fighter.

Also, this Dowd story is WAY too late. This needed to be publicized in, like, late November or the very beginning of December, at the latest.

Like you’d need to tell so if you truly felt good instead of nervous.

You don’t see Tommy Lee Jones’ fans saying “still feeling good about TLJ!”

Lol, bitch! TLJ is a lock in a film that will receive multiple nods that everyone and their grandmother will see. Kidman is dark horse in a trashy, swampy little seen film. She hasn't been giving interviews for the past year about how difficult it was to lose so much weight and still have the strength to belt out a tune. Her emergence is somewhat of a surprise. Natural to feel nervous.

Yes. But TLJ is not fighting for a spot? Kidman is clearly fighting for that last spot. And that is the context in which everyone is posting. We feel good about her chances to slide into the 5th spot.

Sure, sure, convince yourselves! It's the most you can aspire to, after all.

Let him be people, let him be. He's just bitter that Nanny is finally getting invited to another party only to have Nicole swoop in and steal her thunder.

I'm starting to think that neither Kidman or Adams will get in.

It'll be Hathaway, Field, Hunt, Smith, and some crazy, surprising (first-time) nominee.

Gurl, I will cut you so hard. I've always loved Nicole, despite the robbery that was committed on that day.

I was thinking this before as well, but these things just don't happen out of thin air and there's no one on the radar, like at all. Even for someone like Maggie Gyllenhaal or Michael Shannon there was a reasoning behind those nominations. I suppose in Supporting Actor, I can see someone like McGregor getting nominated in that same vein, but I don't know who that would be here. Jennifer Ehle? Maybe, but she has absolutely no buzz and from what I rather not much to do.

Robbery? Kidman didn't rob Moore! She deserved her win! Sorry girl, but it's true. Kim fucking Basinger is the one who robbed Julianne. She's the evil one.

As for the surprise, I don't know. I'm at the point where I just want to say "eff it" and predict Dowd. Nothing makes sense anymore.

I will not take the bait on this because I refuse to get into another Kidman/Moore debate. Been there, done that, moved on. I adore Nicole and she should have won Oscars in a bunch of different years (1995, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2007 all would have been great), she just had no business winning one in 2002. Kim Basinger, who I actually liked in L.A. Confidential, yes committed some robbery of her own.

Ann Dowd is not getting nominated. She needed way more support for that to happen. Like for starters a SAG nomination. The AMPAS will not watch that movie.
