    Can we talk about 'Gossip Girl' for a second?

    LMFAO I don't even watch the show anymore, but I watched the big "reveal" this morning.

    Thank God I stopped watching.

    What? Are you serious? I stopped watching this after season 3 and some of 4. It came to my attention again recently by an article in Slate about the cause and effect relationship between the shows downfall and economic recession. It seems it was in fact the writing ...

    Lmfao yes.

    Clearly the writers were just, like, "Fuck this series" and did that to ruin it once and for all, right?

    It would've made sense for the book series, where Dan was a super-outcast who got mistaken for gay so many times that his parents threw him a coming out party towards the end of the novel series. His life pretty much blew until he decided to finally confess his love for his BFF Vanessa. The television show... wasn't Dan a preppy little snotball? Who's dating Serena? Yeah that makes total sense.

    Gay Dan makes more sense than anything that was ever on the show.

    This show is a tragedy. A teen soap that started off examining the complicated friendship of it's two female leads and ended with one marrying an attempted rapist/abuser/pimp and the other marrying the guy that cyber-stalked her for years. Bravo.

    I loved this show in 2008. I was so obsessed with it that for each episode I ranked the characters from best to worst, and for each character I ranked their episodes from best to worst, so that I could see how I would rank the episodes and characters overall. But after Bart died, it started going downhill and never fully recovered.

    I dug in my e-mail and found my ranking for the first half of S1: Pilot =6.629 (9) – Serena, Dan, and Jenny ride home together.
    Brunch=7.30429 (10) – Serena is sad and alone.
    Poison=4.5943 (7) – Serena and Blair make up.
    Bad=5.0697 (8) – Serena and Blair have a photo shoot.
    Dare=3.6580 (6) – Jenny is bad ass.
    Handmaiden=3.6514 (5) – Rufus and Lily.
    Victor=3.6129 (4) – Blair and Chuck.
    Candles=3.24429 (3) – Blair tells everyone the truth about Nate.
    Pie=1.40 (1) – Serena comforts Blair.
    Hi, Society=1.98 (2) – Serena & Dan have an actual relationship issue.

    First number is the average rank from each character, the second is ordering those ranks from best to worst, and the summary is my favorite storyline/scene of the ep.
    My T10 character storylines from the first 10 episodes: Serena & Blair (Pie), Jenny (Dare Devil), Blair (Bad News Blair), Serena (Handmaiden's Tale), Serena (Hi Society), Nate (Pie), Lily & Rufus (Hi Society), Blair (Victor/Victrola). I guess the closest I have to this now is keeping track of possible Emmy tapes, favorite character from each ep, and how much screentime Elisabeth Moss has for Mad Men.

    True. This Dan turning out to be Gossip Girl is is not only desperate but as you said, 'just getting rid of the burden' kind of attitude.

    Dan's reveal as Gossip Girl was really anti-climatic. For some odd reason, I always thought Lily van der Woodsen was Gossip Girl.

    Seriously. What with wrong with these writers? Did Blake Lively and Leighton Meester run over the showrunner's dog and they dediced to punish the girls for it?

    Hey, remember when you guys nominated this for Program of the Year at the ADEmmys? And Leighton Meester almost won S. Actress? Though she would have beat January Jones, so it would've actually been pretty cool, LOL.

    Do you guys remember Leighton Meester's short-lived music career? She actually wasn't too bad!
