Smith is, as far as I'm concerned, in 4th place. It's Kidman and Adams who are fighting for the last spot (with any possible surprise fringe contenders!).
There's a lot of people who don't get what's baity about the role...... as soon as I saw Best Exotic I knew she would be a contender and I loved the movie and her in it.

At what point in time? A week before the Oscar nominations 9 out of 10 people on this site will probably get such a score.

yeah I agree - the nature of her role is definetly not untypical for AMPAS liking and she delivers it perfectly. There have been several comparable nominated performances for similiar films, especially in the supporting categories but not only (as you've pointed out Tandy won for a character that was nearly the same as Magg's Aunt Muriel). Somehow I got the feeling that since this season the comment "I know saw xxx performance and just cannot see her/him getting nominated for that!" was used quite often this season. Based on the personal judging abilities of our users we might end up with half of untypical-unbaity oscar performances?

There's something wrong with this signature.
Can you find that ONE mistake?

The Paperboy gets released on DVD January 22nd. Just in time for a last push for Oscar #2.

You should be ashamed that you missed it during its theatrical run.

    ....

Did it even reach your area?

    It didn't reach mine.

But at least I'll be moving back to the NYC area for good at the end of the week.

Does Anne Hathaway get more annoying every year? Just watching her on Chelsea Lately and she is insufferable.

I don't know, but she for sure isn't more annoying than her haters ALL FUCKING YEAR LONG WHINING ABOUT HOW ANNOYING SHE IS. Seems like, by being so obsessed with studying every appearance of her to determine just how annoying she is, you've become annoying too, only much more than she or anybody else could remotely be.

You only have ten posts, and somehow you've decided that a 10% of your contributions should be devoted to bash actresses. And you have the nerve to accuse anybody of being annoying.

Ew. You used the word "haters". My post wasn't meant to BASH this actress, who I find very talented, but to merely point out that in my opinion, displaying her vexatious personality all over television is probably not going to win her many points with voters. Then again, I only have 10 (now 11) posts on the AD Forums, so my opinion doesn't matter.

I'm proud of you. For a time, when the first reviews came out and the movie was getting panned left and right, it seemed as if you succumbed and joined in the ridiculing of it. But you have regained your footing, and you're stanning now harder than ever.

I simply remembered you had made a nice comment about the film. Sorry to have a good memory. Nice to see you're so cornered that insults are your only answer, lol.
