I love some of these choices! Greta Gerwig for Actress! Fabulous! And why are these minor groups resurrecting The Perks of Being a Wallflower? What? But it's cool.

Amused that the Detroit group didn't nominate Detropia.

UGH, finally saw Damsels last week and Greta is vying for a Fisti nom for sure (as is Williams)

But why would Perks be a contender? It's not like those final two spots are toss-ups. I'll see if it shows up at the WGA before even thinking of putting them in that last spot.

I think it's in the conversation because the writers branch is the big loose cannon in the above the line categories. When they do something weird, talky ensemble pieces tend to have an advantage. Perks seems very writers branch friendly to me. Maybe even more than something like Life of Pi and definitely more than Les Miz.
