Nice try to cover up your "I should have 60 points!" debacle.
I just compiled and posted my predictions for BFCA, SAG, and the Globes all at once. They're all melding together. I probably mixed them all up.
SAG has a Visual Effects category, right?
Yeah, Nanny Watts and The Impossible is a tough call. The film is barely reviewed, and the reviews it has are strong enough to keep it in the convo, but not strong enough to make it seem like a juggernaut. The distributor seems to have mounted a good campaign and some celebs have supported the film, but Nanny is far from an awards favorite and some reviews indicate she doesn't do much in the film. I think Nanny could hit BFCA, SAG, and GG just as easily as she could miss them all. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Best Actress this year is such an oddity. Several foreign perfs, a slew of Brits, a young'un, etc...
It is really weird that I can see The Impossible getting nothing at BFCA (which I'm currently predicting) or going as far as being in their top ten with five or six nominations. And right now I don't think Globe nominations for Picture, Supporting Actor, and Actress are impossibilities, even if I'm not predicting any of them.
Yeah, I think it's the biggest question mark of the race. With its 81 (same as The Master, btw) from BFCA it doesn't help at all, it only clouds the issue. I know some people (Sasha...) think it's going to be the ELIAC of this year, for what it's worth.
Also... Alan Arkin at BFCAs? Happening or not? That category is also inscrutable.
I don't have it anywhere either. I guess we'll see really soon. I had it in my top 10 for like a minute, but both Django and Moonrise Kingdom make more sense to me. As for the Nanny, I had her in until last night. Then dumped her for an 85 year old.
