Quartet, The Intouchables and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel are all ineligible.
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.
Is the Taylor Swift song from The Hunger Games eligible for original song? Or the Karen O. song from Frankenweenie?

That would be awesome and crazy if both Arcade Fire and Mumford and Sons got in lol.

Despite certain people questioning the presence of a newcomer in every acting category this year, a zero-time Oscar nominee has won in each category with the major critics’ awards – Riva, Dowd, Cooper, and McConaughey/Henry.

This is a really random thought probably driven by the sleepy state I'm in but.. Do you think if people actually believed the world would end this year, that "The Artist" would have won?

I don't get it.
If people knew the 2012 winner would be the last Oscar winner, would that have changed their mindset when voting for "the last" and would The Artist have lost? I know dumb question but oh well.

I think they still would. What pefect ending to the Oscars. Start with a silent winner, end with silent winner.

As more and more people start having sex with robots, it will become increasingly embarrassing to buy a can of WD-40.
I feel like the better question is: Does The Artist winning mean that the world is going to end?
I’m starting to feel The Master could be like, you know, Shame, or something like that. Clearly a critics’ film that’s too remote and off-putting for televised awards groups. I wouldn’t be surprised if it flops hard even in the acting. Like, Phoenix or Adams or even Hoffmann being snubbed. Particularly, I’m not very confident about its SAG performance. I know, I know, Shame was even more off-putting, not to mention indie, with much less start power and not from a previously nominated director. But it seems to be exactly as off-putting for the more easy-going audiences.
I feel like the better question is: Did The Artist winning cause the world to end?
(I think you know my answer.)
And primo, it wouldn't surprise me if The Master flops hard with the Academy period.
Or more likely, only Amy Adams getting a nod while her battling Acting Titans end up with nada.
