Frankly, I don't remember much about the singing. I do remember that the way in which the musical was staged and performed in NY was thrilling. I've read that Nunn et al. made some changes between the London opening and the NY opening.

She should be frantically sending out screeners for Francine in this mess of a Best Actress race.

Great. Now who's going to watch Sunday Rose on SAG night??

I just may! It is a shame a true classically trained Dame of the American Empire could be overlooked for her most ambitious work ever for some mere child whose name cannot be pronounced or spelled properly! Tis and outrage! Or even worse Keira Knightley!

I see you're working on actually writing in-character. Good.

I was but came to my better senses! A 2nd Oscar for La Hunt would put her back in the game for getting good middle aged blue collar women roles! My very livelihood! Unless I want to turn Francine into a franchise I need to keep the name Hunt far off the radar of casting directors looking for middle aged lonely white women! That cameo in Flight could have easily been Helen's if not for my legendary grassroots Oscar campaign in 2011.

Viola Davis in Doubt said "It's just till June" Sasha Stone said on Les Mis early reaction "It's just till the reviews..." How did she know? It's a conspiracy~! Les Mis is being targeted! Tom O'Neil said this would happen too. And I trust anything Tom says!

The magic in that NY theater that evening Les Mis screened was legendary! And nothing these snotty critics say can erase that from peoples memories!

    No!

I am sorry. But I am just very shaken up by this attack on my Les Mis. I knew it was coming and I was powerless to stop it. It's not fair!

Dame Leo is for the people, we must remember, and she wants the Les Miz revolution to succeed.

Really? Judy Kuhn? Her high Bb and C are not what Rebecca Caine's are.

Anyway, in 1985 Les Miserables had no cache at the time with the Brits. They just knew the Royal Shakespeare Company had put on something very different from what they'd expected. It was consequently savaged for being an unsubtle behemoth of a show filled with power ballads and for being reductive on the scope and texture of Victor Hugo's work. Sound familiar?

Since then, it's clearly become a mainstay and point of British pride - it's known to the world as one of the 80s megamusical Brit exports.

LOL, even if he didn't really liked it, I was expecting more viciousness from Jeff Wells:

I'm surprised to find I'm sort of disappointed by this. I wasn't even looking forward to the film all that much--the two times I've seen the stage show, I've found it incredibly bloated (though, granted, one of those was an amateur production). But I'm always in favor of more good films, and the early reports had me thinking this would be a good one to see over Christmas week. I probably still will, but I'm sad those early reports were misleading.

Yeah, Oscar, I know. Like these people had Academy Award nominations in third grade.

So you don't think anyone will vote for Hathaway?
Cady, she's not pretty. I mean, that sounds bad, but whatever. The Oscar Queen is always pretty. And the crazy thing is that it should be Seyfried, but people forget about her.

So, could this be the hot mess of the year?
