Modern Family gets THREE episode nominations?! To the collective ZERO of Louie, Community, and Happy Endings? I'm almost as angry about The Simpsons getting three episodic nominations to the (again) zero of Archer and Bob's Burgers. :rageface again:

I know that Community, Happy Endings, Archer, and Bob's Burgers will never be given awards like this, but I am still mad when it happens!

I like that they apparently nominated everyone on the Breaking Bad staff BUT Vince Gilligan. It's probably because the show has the general honors in the drama category, but it's still weird.

Other than the Comedy episode category, these are actually pretty good.

Ugh, Breaking Bad did not need four episodic nominations, lol. But interesting that they chose New Car Smell from Homeland. I would have expected them to pick Q&A, but I don't know what the cutoff was or anything.

And really, Girls in new series + comedy series but no episodic nominations? No Louie either?

It's been a pretty weak year for new drama series, hasn't it?

Lol, the Drama category is always "which one of the big 6 will be left out?" This time it's Downton Abbey.
I guess the WGA is really pushing for a Breaking Bad Drama Emmy - or at least a Writing nom. They literally nominated half the season - 2 more noms than last year.
I think they probably could have nominated Q&A, as otherwise they nominated Homeland for just 4 episodes, which feels tacky, and I believe ineligible. Plus, last year Good Soldier which aired 11/6 won (while Q&A aired this 10/28). One could argue that Q&A is more a feat of Danes's awesomeness than of writing.

Holidays of Future Passed is a great Simpsons episode - though I can count the number of those in this century on one hand.
The Mindy Project and The Newsroom, really? Though I'm hoping the Nashville nom implies that Hayden P will be nominated for something - perhaps Globes?

Ang Lee - The only 2x Bafta/DGA/Oscar-Winning Director!

Downton Abbey is ineligible for the WGAs so it wasn't snubbed.

Breaking Bad can never manage an Emmy nod in the writing category, and yet it gets four here.

Great. Now who's going to watch Sunday Rose on SAG night??

Why Newsroom? That writing was crucified. Then they had that rumor about all the writers being fired but it was dumb because Sorkin was seen as writing everything anyway?

    I like The Mindy Project.
