I know. Julia would never get snubbed for A Mighty Heart. Can you imagine? Hollywood would have burnt to the ground had they pulled that shit on her.

Well, Angie's only a Supporting Actress winner and that's simply not in the same league as Lead.

I’m holding onto my Argo pipe dream.
But if it looks like Les Miz will manage triple actressing noms, I’ll predict it.
And if it looks like Lincoln will take the 2 traditionally most crowded acting categories, I’ll predict it.

ZD30 if…$100 mil + 2nd acting nominee out of the blue
Silver Linings if…Cooper suddenly becomes a heavy threat for the win, and JLaw is undeniable.

Ang Lee - The only 2x Bafta/DGA/Oscar-Winning Director!

and they never let me down. Try to get ‘em away from me and I’ll eat you alive.

LOL, so many of those things aren't required for a film besides Argo to win.

In order to win, Lincoln doesn't need 2 acting wins, Les Mis doesn't need 3 Supp Actress nominations, ZDT doesn't need to make over 100 M, and SLP doesn't need Cooper to be a strong contender for the win (SLP has no shot to win, anyway)

I mean, the thing is that it doesn't really matter what Argo gets nominated for because it's not going to win. This race is clearly between Lincoln, Les Mis, and ZDT.

    One thing's for certain:

By the looks of the award standings so far, 'Zero Dark Thirty' has this race all wrapped up.

Every year you have a film that get a lot of nominations, but goes home emptyhanded. Argo is that film this year.

ZDT just totally swooped in and stole all of Argo's buzz and its place in the top 3.

I don't even think it's getting that many nominations. Picture, Director, Adapted Screenplay and Editing. Then maybe Score and possibly the Sound categories. I can easily see it just ending up with 4.

I have it pegged for thise 7, which still would mean it's in the higher echelon of films with multiple nominations.

If that's the case then yes, but I don't think it'll get that many. I'll probably predict 5 at this point.

It's definitely beginning to seem more and more Up in the Air-esque, but even that won the NBR.

At this point UitA enjoyed a brief run as the frontrunner in people's minds (from the NBR win to the SAG Ensemble snub).

I voted for it here, but I think its grasp is as tenuous as those of The Master or Moonrise Kingdom right now. I'm sure it has some passionate supporters, but it's not gonna win big with any of the critics and I don't know that it will maintain any momentum.
