    I totally second that.

So does that mean that Zero Dark Thirty gets The Blind Side spot??

Great. Now who's going to watch Sunday Rose on SAG night??

I loved Cotillard in Rust and Bone, and I think she's easily going to get nominated for it.

I know a lot of people rave about her hospital scene, or the second time "Firework" plays... but my favorite scene of hers is when Ali leaves her at the nightclub. Just the look on her face and then her reaction to the creep at the bar.

Between Cotillard, Riva, and Weisz, it's nearly impossible for me to pick a favorite Best Actress performance.

These three have to be my favorites as well! I'd love to see all of them getting nominated (Chastain and Lawrence are surely getting nominated, but the other spots aren't as certain.) I don't think it's going to happen, but one can dream.

Riva/Lawrence tie for best actress in LA. I say JLAW has the reins now.

I think it'll come down to how strong Zero Dark Thirty is. What these critics awards have shown us is that it's very strong, and will contend for the Best Picture win. If it wins BP, Chastain will win, too. If they pass on ZDT for Best Pic, Lawrence will probably win.

At the least, it appears we have a tight race.

Zero Dark Thirty can win Best Picture and still lose Actress.

It can, but I don't think it will. If it wins Picture, I think it'll take Chastain with it.

This is going to be another close race. You'd think Chastain would have the advantage, even just do to the sheer difference in screen time. But I also just think there's a lot of good will towards Jennifer Lawrence. Things will really get going, if/when Jessica starts to amp up the campaigning.

Both actresses have their advantages. It'll be exciting for me to watch this race, that's for sure.

The one that lost some momentum today with not featuring in the awards is Cotillard. Though on a side note at least the film has now expanded to LA.

a lot of people on Twitter are bashing Jennifer Lawrence right now. Did you see Sarah Silverman's tweet ?

    Sarah Silverman @SarahKSilverman
So happy to hear about another 22 y/o actress cast to play opposite an actor in his 40's! Not gross at all

other people saying Emmanuelle Riva was 63 when Jennifer Lawrence was born and comparing their performances is embarrassing :S

While I (still) don't think she'll get an Oscar nom, what prompted this? She won all of today's Best Actress awards.

Technically, yes. However nobody really cared if she wins Boston. And a tie in LA? The only place she should not have any problem.

was she relly going to be a hit with critics though? I feel like the oscar members will like her movie and performance more than riva/amour. Can anyone say they were surprised by this? Riva is the critics choice for best actress. But she won't win any televised awards.

Eh, she still won, and Amour won Best Picture. This might not help her significantly, but winning from one of the major critics org, even in a tie, shouldn't be the impetus to drop her. If she had lost LAFCA, and gone 0/3 at NYFCC, NBR, and LAFCA, then I think saying goodbye would be apt.
