Bernie was kind of bland and McConaughey did nothing in it...so

BUT, I actually thought he was exceptional in The Lincoln Lawyer last year...

Matthew was really great in Killer Joe. He was good in Magic Mike, I haven't seen Bernie yet. I also think that he will get nod this year (probably for MM), and he will win next year in Lead category. Hopefully La Chastain pulls it this year.

He is brilliant in Killer Joe. My personal Best Actor winner so far.

Both his Magic Mike and Killer Joe performances
They're virtual locks in my INOCA ballot (in supporting and lead respectively)
Never thought I'd be so impressed by a McConaughey performance, let alone TWO in the SAME YEAR.

I'd love to see McConaughey nominated for "Killer Joe". That's the real deserving nod.

I'm not so sure "Django" has been screened yet? Doe anyone know?

Django was screened over the weekend for the DGA. It's (twitter) response has been mixed to positive with a lot saying it's not very awards-y. There's no clear consensus regarding the performances. Some think Jackson's best, some think Waltz, few said DiCaprio. Waltz also was a runner up in SA at NYFCC but is being campaigned lead for now. Reviews are being embargoed until the 17th.

    Dafuq Django.

It's really exciting, actually, that reviews are embargoed until after the major nods so there's no consensus and no pressure on awards groups - NYFCC throwing a mention to Waltz, NBR awarding Django, watch Jackson show up at LAFCA
I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.
