I think that's the point. This adds to the Hathaway is Winning train, as Oscar loves them some over the top Actressing.

Um, no, the cinematography here looks pretty horrid.

I...think I watched different clips than everyone else because I was very unimpressed with virtually all of it. Only Redmayne and Hathaway left any sort of positive impression on me.

In these clips, with the exception of Barks (who I think does well with "On My Own"), the singing is pretty much a train wreck. Amanda Seyfried's mini-mouse vibrato drives me up a wall. But maybe (and hopefully) this will all work better in a theater and be so dramatically convincing that the quality of the singing won't matter much. Fingers crossed.

Oh, I definitely understand that, but I don't necessarily think it's great acting. I thought Anne was great in TDKR.

Redmayne's acting is kind of wonderful? I'm going to love his performance, I can feel it.

I'm so glad Barks looks good! I've had a bet with people for months now that she'll be nominated. Virtually everyone I know doesn't think it'll happen.

And yeah, Hathaway's part in "At the End of the Day" looked kind of obvious, but not necessarily in a bad way? I dunno, this looks like the best she's ever been.

I didn't think Redmayne was memorable enough. I don't see him being a guaranteed nominee.

Impressed with the clips. Can't wait to watch it on Boxing Day. And yes this only strengthens the hold Hathaway has on the Oscar.

So, that's the best version of On My Own I've ever heard? I love how toned down and simple it is. Granted, that was only 1:09 but I I think I got the gist.

Boss, what were the best numbers? The worst?

And how many nominations do you think it will get?

And does it feel like the BP winner?

Not sure why so many complaints about Crowe. Who else with that physical presence could they have found who would have sung and acted better?

I'm sure there's someone who could have done it better, but I'm sure they came to the conclusion that such a big player like Javert has to be A-List, no ifs ands or buts about it.

I wondered what Gary Oldman would've done with the role...

Saw this at the NY screening on Thursday; I work for Universal part time.

Easily our winner for Best Picture. Anne, as well, has it in the bag. The scope of everything is just so huge. Like, Titanic levels of huge. A total epic in every sense. We all know I cry a lot at movies, but this was the fucking mother load. Continuous sobbing the entire time.

I can completely see Jackman, Hathaway, Barks, and Redmayne nominated, though everyone else will have to live with the eventual SAG Ensemble victory.

Also, today was day one of the junket and the entire cast is perfection, particularly Anne. SUCH a sweetheart.

I really hope Crowe doesn't sound like he's shouting in the mike at a karaoke during every number.

A Metacritic critic I know saw this this week and said it was well-acted but horribly shot. He was mixed-positive, sounded like, but not really enough to perk it up too much.
