This is a weird year for the category. Rachel Weisz is a previous winner and still a current name in the industry. I mean, last year was waaaay more competitive and Tilda almost made the cut for a very difficult, little-seen movie.
I guess I'm rooting for her just to see filmy go on full Rachel-mania mode.
Leaving a screening of The Paperboy.
I still think Meryl is getting the SAG nom.
Hey, Thomas Horn might've had a shot in Best Actress if ELAIC were released this year.
Ugh, don't do this to me - I already had to suffer through Goddess Swinton getting every precursor in the world yet still having to see her be backhanded by Oscar for Glen Close in drag![]()
Rachel will be a passion vote, but so many people will be turned off by the filmI'm just glad she scored one prestigious award this season
However I will try to remain optimistic.
LMAO gurls, you're some PASSIONATE (McTeague) WHORES (filmy).
I think Watts will get some passion votes too. People who love The Impossible (and there are many) seem to be like, flabbergasted (Moviefreak) by her (habsy) or its acting in general.
And yeah then there's Riva, Weisz and even Knightley who could get some passion votes too.
I too am puzzled about SAG. But those populist whores (filmy) won't go with something as obscure (guscruz) as The Deep Blue Sea, which is not even Sundance. Hell (guany), I think even Amour (Canela) is less obscure (guscruz) than TDBS, because it at least is a must-see of the season. I'm thinking Lawrence, Chastain and Watts for SAG, and then... Riva and Knightley? Riva and Dench? Dench and Knightley? Any of those and Mirren?
Nah, I think all Meryl's getting this year is the obvious Comedy Globe nom.
And that's okay.
She did not even WANTED to be campaigned by her studio this year!
But are the Critic Choice Awards really getting a Comedy category?
Then there's the chance she'll be in there too. (despite the fact that HS has only a score of 74 there, only one f*cking point away from a three star film)
