Jessie Ware! She should be near the top, but I'm glad she made the list. I really can't get over that album. She's sensational.

I like Tame Impala, but Lonerism didn't blow me away. It was "nice."

This reminds me that I need to catch up with the new xx. I'll give Tame Impala a listen, my only exposure of them so far is from the latest Flaming Lips album. I might give some of these other albums/artists that I haven't heard of a listen as well.

Grimes will probably top most year-end lists coming up I imagine. A feat for Tame Impala here tho---

She NEEDS to be there. Glad to see Jessie, Kendrick, Frank, and Lana get recognized.

Hmmm. Except Jack White, the top 10 don't do much for me. Although I am happy to see Bat for Lashes (I would have rated her much higher), Cat Power, Jessie Ware and specially Sharon Van Etten (rated so high), Fiona Apple missing is strange indeed.

Fiona not being in any respectable list's Top 5 would be laughable. But not even in the Top 50? NME have always been a bunch of jackasses anyway.

Tame Impala is a great choice, though.

There's been enough good music this year that I can see a publication not including her in a top five or even a top ten, but not including her in a Top 50 is indeed inexcusable.

That being said there ARE a lot of good choices here, even if I take issue with some of their placements (which is true of any list, ever).

For me it's Frank Ocean (best American album in at least four years) and John Talabot.

No Fiona is dumb. But, the list has given me some new stuff to track down, so that's good

Does anyone feel that this year has been one of the more "meh" in awhile for music? i mean, there's been good albums and songs, but... I dunno, this time last year I had fallen in love with quite a few albums. This year, the only one I truly adored was Fiona's, and it isn't even her best.
    Last five movies seen:
    Chunhyang (2000) **1/2
Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) **
    Valhalla Rising (2009) ***1/2
    Young Adult (2011) *
    How I Ended This Summer (2010) *1/2

I'm so happy for Grimes, I love her albums but I didn't expect to see her at the top of the list.
Have you guys realized that Lana del Rey made the list and Fiona did not ?!?!?!

    This.

Also Bat For Lashes should have been higher as well but I'm glad it made the list.

"Nice" is a good word to describe Tame Impala. I like them but wouldn't have ever thought of calling their album the best of the year ever.

Grimes and Frank Ocean, though, are great choices--those two albums probably represent the year for me.

Also need to add Miguel - Kaleidoscope Dream.
