Not everyone can be Meryl Thatcher, winning after just 1 round.

Also, since Youtube is a great gauge for Oscar noms, views of the supporting actress clips thus far:
    182.5k Barks, 190.3k Hathaway, 298k Seyfried
I never have any idea what your posts mean

Seyfried's clip only has so many views because of Redmayne.

Meryl Streep won NY in one round.

And he's trying to say that the amount of views a youtube clip gets the more likely said actor will be nominated. Yeah.

God, the fact that Hathaway was the only runner-up from NY mentioned seems to indicate that even the critics don't know what the hell to do with this category.

Would the Academy actually give two actors his/her third win each, as would happen if both DDL and Field win? I can't see that happening yet I can't see DDL not winning his third Oscar.

They could have given Nicole Kidman a mention, obviously.

Well, Field isn't going to win the Oscar, so problem solved.

For those who appreciated Kidman's performance in The Paperboy, as Amy Nicholson from MovieLine said... In October, a group of rogue cinephiles launched a For Your Consideration Facebook page flogging Nicole Kidman's outstanding work in The Paperboy. As of today, the page has 10 fans. Let's get that number growing.

I know I've got a big ego, I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.

Speculation on goldderby about SLP landing nominations in every category, but I would think Supp. Actress would be even more of a struggle than Lead Actor. Jacki Weaver was endearing and did a great job, but there's not a lot there.

Well in recent years winners included Gong Li, Catherine O'Hara, and Woodley. But at least this provides a possible alternate "two newcomers" situation to Les Miz getting 3 nominees in one category, which I highly doubt.
