I can see Cooper missing, just like Garfield did, despite positive notices. But we will see...I'd love a Cooper nod personally. So I hope I'm wrong.
Agree re Hawkes. We've seen before that Hawkes is clearly an "actor's actor" as you say, since SAG was the only major precursor he hit in 2010, and I think he'll hit it again, at the expense of either Cooper or Jackman. BFCA and GG will nominate all six, so those won't clear anything up at all. BAFTA will likely be telling, but since those nominations are released only the day before Oscar nominations, I think the consensus at least up until that point will just be the 5 SAG nominees, of which I expect Hawkes to be one.

LMAO. Living In Cinema is Craig Kennedy... one of Sasha's yes-men on her podcast!

Seems the response to this is strong enough to put it in the hunt for BP but not strong enough for it to run away with it. I also continue to doubt Jackman who I think COULD be carried in over Cooper if the poor BO for SLP continues, but I'm not sure. Hell, I'm even starting to think Richard Gere could surprise over both of them or something crazy

Tom O'Neil on the potential acting nods:

"Les Miz" will surely get at least three: Hugh Jackman (lead) and Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne in supporting. Three others are possible: Russell Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, all in those second-tier slots.

Hmmm, no mention of Barks or Seyfried, but he's confident in Redmayne.

As for Gabe Toro, bitch spends more time commenting on Hollywood Elsewhere than he does writing for The Playlist.

    Plus, shit like this:

    Also, Gee ‏@GabeTheShogun
Saw the "Les Mis" movie today. If someone told me I had to get shot in the face or watch that movie again, I'm eating a fucking bullet.
    ... is beyond obnoxious.

He might be an okay blogger (I don't read him) but I can't take him seriously after his crazy rants on hollywood elsewhere. Like he was bitching about how New York screenings were full of people predisposed to like it. Hello, this is what studios do when they release their award season movies. Wells got to see Lincoln only like 1-2 days before the premier after pretty much every critic in LA had seen it already.

Well, yes, but it means the buzz for it is somewhat inauthentic.

I don't know if I can take it if people clap after every song. That sounds unbearable.

I take bogs and tweets with a large pinch of salt.

I am however not surprised about the Redmayne, Bonham Carter and Cohen supporting buzz. I've said all along about Marius (Empty Chairs at Empty Tables is a huge song), and Bonham Carter is of course a respected previous nominee who can do these kind of roles in her sleep, and it IS excellent casting...plus her and Cohen provide much scene-stealing comic relief in the show.

Wait, you think that Cosette is a dull as dishwasher nothing role, but you're a fan of the incredibly slight Mme. Thenardier?

    Girl, bye.

WTF? Have some respect you twat.

I'm hardly a 'fan'. But Thernardier is a classic supporting role. She provides hammy, bitchy comic relief. She's an evil old hag. Textbook oscar supp. actress material...

Having said that i would prefer 10 minutes with her than half an hour with the dishwater dull wallflower Cosette. you only seem to like Cosette cos your favourite, Amanda, is playing the part. Awww, that's really cute...

And everybody knows that screen time isn't always the most important factor in gaining a supporting nom. Just ask Ruby Dee and Judi Dench and a slew of others...

And HBC probably won't be nominted. I was merely suggesting her in the mix.

The thread ended up getting "locked" before this thread was made so I made a new one. I feel like people don't realize that. I wouldn't have made it otherwise.

I didn't run to make it after I said that comment, yet I think people are thinking that? That would be a real assholish thing to do.

Like I said, it ended up getting locked then I did it.

And I also made it because I wanted to use my thread title... (I know by saying this a moderator will probably change it ) and dlong said he couldn't think of a thread title to use.

So I took the intitative. I didn't think dlong was allowed to call allmighty dibs on this? This really shouldn't really be that big of deal...

Sorry dlong, you can have the next one. Promise.

Well, I'm excited that there's actually a new name entering the game so late, and even better, it's someone who's cute!

Plus, it appears we're dodging the Crowe bullet here (sorry crazyfists)

This doesn't come here until Feb 23rd.

He's such a little twat. Then again I think most people who write for The Playlist are.

Edit: I should have read more of this post before bringing out twat again.
