Hmm. I notice things are already getting abrasive and confrontational on the Best Actress front. This should be fun.

She's also way too female for who she is portraying.

This is a disaster. I hope that 97 on Metacritic and 100 on Rotten Tomatoes make up for this epic fail.

Unless someone wants to seriously discuss the film, the performances, etc. Between the person with a Jennifer Lawrence avatar being sarcastic to people who like that clip to the truly perplexing thought that women who play CIA agents should have a specific type voice (apparently something along the lines of Clint Eastwood I guess), this seems more like the trolling one would find on a fan forum. It also reeks of desperation.

I'd much rather discuss the actual movie, what people are looking forward to in it and what people are excited about. Personally I love the thought that it is reminding some of the style of Zodiac (my favorite Fincher film) and that apparently, after Chastain , Clarke and Ehle (who I think are two tremendous acting talents) are getting the most acclaim in the cast.

As for the she will be like Carrie on Homeland, I think that is as shallow an observation as the people years ago who said, before it premiered and solely based on the premise and adverts, that The Sopranos was unneeded because it was just a rip off of Analyze This. Probably even more shallow considering the hunt for Osama Bin Laden was a pretty darn real event.

I'll address you directly since you seem to be confusing me others. I am the only one with Lawrence in my avatar, and I'm wondering what have I said to irk you? My initial thoughts were an appropriate response to Moviefreak discussing how I felt about the acting in that particular clip. Then someone said she mispronounced Pakistan, which I took as a joke. Hence my joke post in response to that.

So please do not confuse me with the others, who are taking things too far with the voice. Thanks.

I hate the Homeland comparisons because clearly Chastain's character is not bipolar, or anywhere near as emotionally damaged. Ooooh, all female CIA agents are the same character, basically, right?

Your response to Moviefreak's post is "Really?" which is a sarcastic response. It acts as if Moviefreak said something completely ignorant in liking a clip. While I find the acting criticism you offer not particularly compelling, that is your opinion. Having a disagreement is a matter of opinion. The sarcastic reply of "Really?" on the other hand is meant to indicate that someone else is obviously saying something that makes little sense.

I just love that Ehle is having a bit of a career resurgence. She's gotten great reviews in so many bit parts, crossing my fingers that somehow all the goodwill from those projects translate into a leading part some time soon.
