They will probably get Mickey Rooney. They costarred in Night at the Museum!
I agree with McTeague re: Ruby Dee (an embarrassment that had ZERO effect on the race), but I don't think Field is in the same position. For one, she actually has a legit supporting role, not some glorified cameo with one "Oscar clip" scene. Secondly, she's in a film that's going to be a major contender (and likely winner) in other categories, unlike the lifeless, by-the-numbers tripe that was American Gangster (which was nominated for ONE other Oscar--art direction). Most importantly, Field was actually good and was able to go head-to-head with DDL (something Paul Dano couldn't handle), even if she had to go a bit over-the-top.

I now kind of want Sally Field to win Supporting Actress, just because her acceptance speech would probably involve cursing and some sort of invective against misogyny. She's feisty as hell. Also, somebody needs to write a role for her as either the boss of a crime family or as like, the female version of Liam Neeson's character from Taken.
Steelier Magnolias?

Rachel Weisz looks so unbelievably beautiful in this whole interview. I was numbed.
Sally Field came off as the most articulate and just entertaining to watch. Marion Cotillard was like a dead body, showing no emotion or response to what anybody said.
AND LOVED what Hunt said about the paparazzi. It was like "Shut up you dumb idiot, lets focus on more interesting things than your take on that problem, thanx".
People, leave Ruby Dee ALONE.![]()
