As much as we all think TLJ is the frontrunner, we don't have too much to go off of. Everything can change tomorrow with the Oscar nods and the BFCA winners. I don't know, Arkin just feels like the kind of respected veteran actor who would have 2 Supporting Oscars.

I'm not predicting it (yet), but I'm certainly open to the idea.
simply nothing will be clear until winners get their Oscars.
Spielberg vs. the Industry. Who Will Win In The End?

    Spielberg lost.

OMG. I've always predicted ZDT. I only said that I could potentially see it missing out if this was a year of five and five only (before the expansion). Jesus. Of course, with SLP underperforming, I've changed my mind, but I don't understand why so many people have felt the need to lose their shit when it was nothing more than a hypothetical and never something I was actually predicting for this year. Frankly, I think it's ridiculous that people have criticized me for that notion only to turn around and predict the ZDT wouldn't make BAFTA's top five.

And speculation is not prediction. I'm just tossing ideas around and thinking out loud as I finalize some predictions today. It doesn't mean I'm saying it's going to actually happen.

I think Argo is going to surprise us tomorrow. If we're talking '70s-settings, Milk got a Costume nod.

And I haven't dropped Washington yet. I'm only considering it. Read, Dirk.

Gurl, I know you were never actually predicting it. I just thought it was pretty crazy, even as speculation. Certainly much crazier than predicting ZDT to miss the BAFTA top 5.

I don't think predicting a Washington snub is that weird. It's a tight race, his film has the least acclaim, he'd be its only nomination, and he (like Hawkes and Phoenix) is missing one of the major precursors. I won't predict it, but I don't think it's absurd, especially as speculation.

He didn't even get a a BAFTA nomination for both his Oscar wins. BAFTA didn't really matter for him.

BAFTA just showed Hunt getting in on her own wouldn't be that weird.
