I'm probably alone on this but I'm thinking Naomie Harris could play Coretta. They have very similar facial structures. I don't know maybe I'm probably the only person who sees it, but I think it would be a fine choice.

Also little factoid, I go to school with MLK's Great Nephew's daughter. She's extremely nice. Although I do believe her father died a couple years ago. He was in very bad health but he was such a great guy. Her mother is equally wonderful as well. Such a lovely family.

I like the choices of Thandie Newton and Naomie Harris for Coretta! Both more than capable.

Anthony Mackie's problem is that he looks much younger than he is and he's currently too skinny. Maybe if he were to gain weight but the face is going to be difficult. It's a somewhat risky project (since MLK estate is against it) so I'd think they want a known actor as a draw. Otherwise someone like Jeffery Wright could do it.

I believe Mackie was in talks for Greengrass's Jimi Hendrix biopic, not this one. I'm not sure he even go the casting stage before Universal shut him down.

That said, Mackie would be an unconventional choice that could work out well. He deserves better parts than he's been getting, to be sure.

Jeffrey Wright should play MLK again, or Levar Burton.

Jeffrey Wright would likely be good, yes.

If we're just going by physical looks Tyler Perry is the closest actor to looking like MLK. However, as everyone knows, he's a terrible actor. My vote goes to Jeffrey Wright, he's done it before and did a good job.
