It's getting placed so high because it's popular everywhere. That's how you usually do this. Look at the facts and that make a prediction, not just go by on what's happening in your head.

Beasts does have a lot of fans here, but it does seem like for long stretches they get drowned out by the Wallis-hating cadre and their obnoxiousness.
I don't hate Wallis, I'm just very shouty about my opinion that other actresses have done better work this year and I will be pretty miffed if Wallis breezes past these amazing women because she's a cute kid. And that Beasts is a second-rate Malick homage. UGH.

But this has no place in your predictions (or prediction threads, for the most part). You talk about personal bias affecting judgment, but I think you're one of the worst offenders in this regard. you're not the only anti-Beasts/Wallis person on this board -- in fact, there are some who hate both much more than you -- but you're the only one who brings it up with such alarming frequency. That's what people (see Erik's post) are talking about, not your feelings toward the film or even it's awards chances. It's the frequency with which you post about it.
