Tom Hanks was also nominated for Saving Private Ryan.
But three (leading) Oscars in only one decade was just impossible.

DDL and TLJ are in a good position to win. We'll see.

Oddly enough, I think if he had only won for one of those, he may have won. The Academy didn't seem to know where to go, which is why I think the exhubarant Italian got the award.

Makes me wonder if she'll ever try again in the near future.

She did pretty good with her first dramatic role in years with The Killer Inside Me IMO.

How many locals will carry that "It's Racist!" banner?
    Movies recently reviewed by RRA:

    Star Trek (2009)
    Pain & Gain (2013)
    Oblivion (2013)
    Jurassic Park III (2001)
The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
    Jurassic Park (1993)

The New RRA: Less Spam, still 100% deliciously ruining AD.

Review: 'Lincoln' Is A Handsomely Shot, Immaculately Acted & Terribly Dull Historical Biopic
    From The Playlist.

    Victoria Alexander
    Film Festival Today

Long, cheesy political monologues and crucifies the Lincoln legacy. What a torture! Director Steven Spielberg and screenwriter Tony Kushner turn the hallowed figure of Abraham Lincoln into a dreary sop.

...historically laughable, it's so boring it makes one yearn to watch grass grow. Original Score: 0/10

Uhm, Lincoln is nothing like its trailer like at all. The film is brilliant with one of the best scripts in years. And the reviews are anything but uneven as the 87 on MC would attest.

It's so weird I can't get excited about this. It just sounds so dull and boring. Well, as my expectations are low, I can easily be blown away, so perhaps it's a good thing.

Oh jeez. Have you read what many of the locals around here who have seen it thought of it?

I know The reviews are great, everyone says it's great and not at all dull and boring, but I have this preconception that seems like it isn't going to go away until I see it. It will not change my opinion of the film though.

Clearly Phyllida Lloyd hasn't done any service for Meryl's win. If anything, she did great disservice, the way The Iron Lady was directed (and edited!). Considering the subject, the baitiness of the character and fact that Weinstein was backing the film, Meryl would've won given (almost) any actor.

I thought Lincoln opened wide, but it still has only 32 reviews at Metacritic. Didn't it open wide?
