"Lawrence takes the criticism in stride. “I’m never going to starve myself for a part,” she tells Elle. “I don’t want little girls to be like, ‘Oh, I want to look like Katniss, so I’m going to skip dinner’ … I was trying to get my body to look fit and strong — not thin and underfed.” The Silver Linings Playbook star also sees a silver lining to this weighty situation — “I’ll be the only actress who doesn’t have anorexia rumors.”

Lol, you are not the only non-anorexic actress in Hollywood.
Also, take that, Hathaway. And Portman. Lawrence is gonna snatch a lead Oscar without deglamming or damaging her health. So there.

and they never let me down. Try to get ‘em away from me and I’ll eat you alive.

No, he just has common sense. It is not under any metric except retarded Academy logic a weak year for lead actress. I mean, I expect the INOCA race here to be really competitive (aside from Wallis being locked for a nod, hopefully not a win, UGH).

LOL I can tell you now that the INOCA nominees will be Marion Cotillard, Emmanuelle Riva, Quvenzhané Wallis, Rachel Weisz and Jennifer Lawrence. INOCA sometimes are more easy to predict than Oscars.

I'm legitimately wondering if you're capable of not making anti-Beasts comments in a majority of your posts? Do you not sense how one-dimensional your commentary has become?

And Wallis is definitely not winning INOCA best actress; I'm not even sure she'll be nominated. Plenty of ADers dislike her performance/film.

Jali, I'd squeeze Chastain in, maybe over Wallis.

There's nothing to say all of them don't get in. Remember last year we had 7 nominees for best actress.

I think we need some sort of method of breaking ties. Seven nominees = mess

This is one of the things that will be addressed this year. Whether it is addressed with a separate round of voting, a different way of counting nominees, or with a blunt force hammer (ie, I save my ballot for last as I'm tabulating...and then use it to break any ties) is still being debated internally (and shall be externally, but not here at this moment.)

So continue with your discussion irrespective of things to come. Which is counter to our usual goal here but...yeah...um...

    With Riva winning, I'm sure.

INOCA lineup is not complete without Naomah and the "faux" Blanchett" Chastain.

So I'm at a usually crowded art house theater on a Friday night for Smashed. It's also its first week of release in Austin.

There are 4 other people besides myself.

Summit/Lionsgate finally sent The Impossible screener to AMPAS (received today), seems like a good strategy to send it earlier than the other actress contenders (only Wallis film was sent first) films; perhaps this could help Watts? I've also heard from people that the film has been very well received at screenings with crying throughout the film and applause at the end, it'll likely play well with AMPAS.

and in case anyone is interested the other screeners summit/lionsgate sent were: Hunger Games and Perks of Being a Wallflower though I doubt they'll get anything major.

I don't understand why people weren't expecting this?

Do you know if the screener has been sent to BAFTA yet?
