    I saw this last night,

    Side Effects was soooooooooooooo great.

I did not expect like it as much as I did. So many twists and shocks! Loved it!

If you're asking how I saw it, they had screenings in six cities last night.

Also, the film has an 80 BFCA Score right now. Yay!

She was pretty good, but I actually thought Jude Law was best in show.

Also, I'd like to note that film got a big round of applause when the credits started rolling. My audience loved it! Lots of *GASPS* throughout. Very cool.

I've seen the trailer for this several times before other movies and still don't understand what the plot is.

That's why it's a good trailer in a way. Giving away the main plot would spoil the fun!

I generally like it when a trailer for a generic-looking movie gives me something other than cliched line-readings and dramatic editing. Sell me a little bit.

Maybe thats Soderberghs' point? I found many of his films are very different in tone and style from how their trailer portrays them.
I thought Contagion looked like shit when I first saw the trailer but it was so much deeper than that.
Haywire/magic mike were also much better than expected .... then again maybe its just bad marketing

I think the trailer was appropriate for the kind of the movie it will be (or I am expecting it to be.) Something in the vein of Arbitrage recently. Nothing ground-breaking but attractive to the target audience who go for this kind of stuff. I don't think it was meant to be a major player (look at the dead-zone they are releasing it in?) Anyway, it does not look like a lifetime movie, please.

I was invited to a screening of this next week, where Soderbergh, Law, and Mara will be in attendance. I most likely will not be able to go, but my first thoughts were that 1) I didn't realize Soderbergh had two projects coming out (also counting the Liberace film), and also 2) I thought he was retiring?? I keep hearing that. But I enjoy him, so I'm looking forward to this.

I've read the script, the movie is built on plot twists...the trailer is intentionally vague/misleading.

First clip shows legend Mara impressing everyone with her beauty....

Also kind of love the music, reminds me of those hypnosis tapes:

" now imagine a beach, count back to ten..."
